Rumour: Could we soon be looking for sailors on the PSP?

According to Joystiq a new Dreamcast emulator for the PSP is capable of running such high spec DC games as Shenmue.
However, while this is all potentially great news for Sega Nerds and Dreamcast lovers worldwide, right now the emulator isn’t exactly running at a playable speed.
“NullDC PSP” (based off the PC emulator, NullDC), is able to run Shenmue… at about 1-2fps, and is said to have load times of up to 30 minutes. Not seconds, but minutes! Making it literally unplayable.
It also has some pretty obvious graphical errors, if you take a look at the above video, you can see Ryo running up the hill towards his house. But chances are he won’t be able to see you, or anyone else, not only because he is a computer generated being - but also he has no head!
While this could easily be true, I’m filling this under “rumour” for now, just in case - as you can never be too careful with emulator videos these days ;o)

it’s so crap it probably is true.. but don’t expect the psp to ever be able to run emulated dreamcast games at full speed.

It’d be a rather elaborate hoax considering how crappy it actually runs. Still, if they can get it running smoothly, then more power to them. It’s a pretty big “if” though.

This will never run correct it takes twice as much power to run a emulator of a console on a pc so the psp would be slow regardless if he gets this to work or not. the PSp just isnt powerful enough ( sadly).
