House of the Dead EX is the latest spin off in the House of the Dead series. This one will be full of minigames, all featuring zombies. Some of the confirmed minigames include zombie sumo, zombie apple picking, zombie bowling, and zombie rock ‘n’ roll. All minigames will be played with a light gun and foot pedals, the cabinet will be a modified version of the one used for 2 Spicy.

“Enjoy your life,” this could be the new House of the Dead catch phrase. Move over “Suffer like G did.”

Seems like it might work on Wii with the balance board and zapper.

It looks interesting, but nothing exciting.

Unless those are zombified bowling pins I am not at all interested in this.

Haa that look’s hilarious.

Wii would make most sense for this if it gets the console port.

WoW, finally something good from AM1, since HOTD4 wait a second this is the first thing they have done since HOTD4, does this mean this game was in development for over 2 years?

Yeah. If anything, this game would be perfect on Wii should SEGA decide to port this to consoles.

It’s a bit annoying to see the original House of The Dead set be used yet again… without a remix of the original game.

HoTD 2 & 3 for Wii lacked HoTD 1.
HoTD 2 for Dreamcast was supposed to include a remix of the original, but that was scrapped due to bugs.
Zombie Revenge let you play through the first level in Streets of Rage style.

And now HoTD Ex lets us tour the original game… we just can’t play it.

I’d pay for an HD remake of the game using high-res textures… that would make a nice Wii Channel (or better, Xbox Live Arcade for HD) game.

It’s just lame to know that the best version of HoTD exists in MAME via the Model 2 original.

I’m with everyone else that has said the Wii is an obvious port for this, probably the only really viable one too.

Though in a way I feel something like this might get brick walled into not being released stateside, but I hope I’m wrong there.

While Sega has indicated that Lindbergh games could run on Wii, they have yet to pull that off.

I’m rather convinced that Lindbergh is slightly out of reach of Wii’s performance. Running HoTD 4 on Wii could be about as bad as running HoTD 1 on the Sega Saturn… it was a costly port that pushed the system beyond its limits.

ENJOY YOUR LIFE, ENJOY YOUR LIFE, ENJOY YOUR LIFE!

Those teeth filled maw stricten bowling pins sure dont look too friendly.

I’m also hoping for a Wii release now. The odd new charectors would kinda fit.

Also I agree with the annoying lack of HOTD1 treatment.
It needs to be brought back somehow.
Though graphic wise, I dont care, I just wanna see the darn game come back already.

Sadly I dont think HOTD2&3:returns made enough impact for more HOTD releases. Though I bought it. I saved ten bucks thanks to Seganerd’s info, but I bought it!

Also Typing of the Dead 2 already ;-;

Though anyone wanna see a Japanese Of the Dead? Anyone? xD (English of the dead is a japanese only release obvoiusly)

I wonder if this will be funner than Typing of the Dead? I have always enjoyed playing Typing of the Dead on my Dreamcast and wish that someone else with a Dreamcast keyboard could play with me… *cries*

Where did you get this info from Shujinko?

Is he saying Emiko Sunaga will redesign House Of The Dead 1 after HOTD5, as in a remake of the series.

It is widely rumored that HOTD5 will be the last installment in the series, and Sunaga did say in an interview with 1UP that HOTD1 is quite outdated and requires a major graphics overall.

It’s important to note that those rumors mostly stem from the tarot card system having a limit of five.

Sega team members have never been quoted as saying HOTD5 would be the last game. And, with Sega in the state they’re in… I don’t know if they can afford to end a profitable series right now.

This should be good, I’m hoping they will port it.

HOTD5 should be good, but this’ll keep people busy until it does come out.

Oh and for whoever said I hope they’re zombified bowling pins, they do have mouths and the bowling ball is a zombie(or something) not a ball.

Back again, Chris, I was thinking maybe they could use a couple of Minor Arcana cards but I doubt they’ll use any to be honest. I thought there were only 3 Major Arcana cards left anyway:
(The Fool HOTD3
(The Magician HOTD1&2
(The High Priestess HOTD5?
(The Empress HOTD4
(The Emperor HOTD2
(The Hierophant HOTD2
(The Lovers HOTD4
(The Chariot HOTD1
(Strength HOTD2
(The Hermit HOTD1
(Wheel of Fortune HOTD3
(Justice HOTD4
(The Hanged Man HOTD1
(Death HOTD3
(Temperance HOTD4
(The Devil HOTD5?
(The Tower HOTD2
(The Star HOTD4
(The Moon HOTD5?
(The Sun HOTD3
(Judgement HOTD2
(The World HOTD4

That’s 3 but I wouldn’t be suprised if The World came back.
