I don't think that Sony paid Sega for those two games.
Sega simpli chosen ps3 because Yakuza and Valkyria are japanese games, and Sony had make some advertising for Yakuza and a bundle for PS3, end of the deal.

Xbox exclusives? What exclusives? Wow, Full Auto, one of the crappiest Sega racing games ever...
Condemned and Chromehounds reached more than 500k, Chromehounds was one of the most played game on xbox live at the time...
And don't forget Sonic 06, almost a million on 360 with all those bad reviews.

In any case, 3 average games, and 3 FAKE Sega games, just published.

Last, I didn't see all this advantages of VF5 360 apart the no-advertised online gaming.
Including some new items is not enought for 6 months of delay, and it's not a real advantage, not for a casual gamer.

City Hunter...

Sony pays Sega to keep the games exclusive. Yakuza is one of the biggest series in Japan right now, and is by far and away Sega's flagship title in the land of the rising sun.

Sega's XBOX exclusives have all bombed. Without exception. Their X360 games, Chromehounds, Full Auto and Condemned have only been minor successes. I really see no reason for Sega to invest. Furthermore the X360 is dying and the PS3 is really starting to pick up steam, especially in terms of software.

Virtua Fighter 5 sold like shit on both consoles, but the X360 version had literally every advantage imaginable, and still sold less than half the PS3 version.

"You can’t blame Xbox for Sega failures, especially the 360, where ALL third parties evenm the japanese ones are making the real money"

No, everyone is doing good on both console. But if we want to talk about money, then SEGA should just invest on the Nintendo Wii, cheaper and larger userbase.

Everyone is making the REAL money on the Wii, on the Xbox360 and PS3, they barely make much profit.

"I mean from the REAL SEGA (not fake sega games like Full Auto).
How can you expect love from xbox gamers if you don’t give it in the first place?"

If we are going to start talking about love from Xbox gamers, then they got their fair share last gen, and they obligied by making sure almost all of the titles bombed.

"Why I have to trust you? (Don’t take it bad) I don’t think that 360 didn’t manage 200k copies, for example, every week VF5 was always out of stock in many uk shops…"

We you shouldn't, but as I've seen NPD reports, the presence in Chart Tracker, the sales in Famitsu, this is what I've seen. Your free to research this yourself, some of the data is made public.

"maybe, or maybe not, who knows, without proofs its just speculations"

Check the sites I told you.

"But you’re missing a big thing, we have passed from a non-japanese console (xbox1) to a one that is near to becoming the new home for console rpg…"

Those are timed exclusives though.

"In any case, 200k copies for Yakuza and Valkyria, two big budget games, in Japan, it’s far from success and from a concrete reason to mantain these two “free” exclusive"

Ryu Ga Gotoku Kenzan! sold over 270,000 copies in Japan, on average retailers make $78 on PS3 games, SEGA probably made at least about $16,000,000 million. If they thought Kenzan! Was a bomb they would not opt for it as a exclusive, it did enough to cover costs and marketing and the THE BEST version is not released, were SEGA makes their money with the Yakuza games.

Likewise Valkyrie Chronicles has to sell around 130,000 in Europe and America to become successful. Hardly reason to not support the PS3.

If SEGA made a FPS and made it exclusive to the PS3, I'd call them out on that as that would sell on the Xbox360, but as it stands, SEGA of Japan have no games that show any signs of being successful on the Xbox360 outside of Sonic the Hedgehog.

"City Hunter is right, lets make it come out on the Wii."

George, ff course I meant the next gen, not the wii.

"Why can’t I? Prior to this the Xbox was a total failure for SEGA."

You can't blame Xbox for Sega failures, especially the 360, where ALL third parties evenm the japanese ones are making the real money.

Apart a 6 months delayed and not advertised (or bad advertised) port with a very basic online mode, can you tell me one Sega 360 exclusive?
I mean from the REAL SEGA (not fake sega games like Full Auto).
How can you expect love from xbox gamers if you don't give it in the first place?

"No it didn’t, if you trust websites like VGChartz then maybe it did but it bombed in Europe, didn’t appear in any NPD reports and Famitsu only says it sold 17,000 copies in Japan."

Why I have to trust you? (Don't take it bad) I don't think that 360 didn't manage 200k copies, for example, every week VF5 was always out of stock in many uk shops...

"Yes, Microsoft is paying them for exclusives. Some of them are timed exclusives though, that shows something.

Eternal Sonata did not do that good, okay in Japan and in America but a bomb in Europe, like I said, there is a reason why it was a timed exclusive."

maybe, or maybe not, who knows, without proofs its just speculations.
But you're missing a big thing, we have passed from a non-japanese console (xbox1) to a one that is near to becoming the new home for console rpg...
Don't undestimate this.

"If they want to remain in Japan, is another matter…"

That is my point with Yakuza anyway, not Valkyrie Chronicles, which I think will find it hard to preform on the Xbox360, but also the PS3, because it is not a RPG title but a strategy game instead, who are not known to preform well.

"You can’t say that Yakuza 3-4 and Valkiria will fail on 360, of corse if Sega coninue with his policy of no-advertising, there is no one to blame for his economic failures…"

Why can't I? Prior to this the Xbox was a total failure for SEGA.

"BTW, VF5 reached more than 200k copies, and 360 don’t lack in good games like PS3 at the time of VF5 release…"

No it didn't, if you trust websites like VGChartz then maybe it did but it bombed in Europe, didn't appear in any NPD reports and Famitsu only says it sold 17,000 copies in Japan.

"Eternal Sonata did well, like tha majority of ps2 rpg, if Namco and Square are making many rpg EXCLUSIVELY on 360, it means something…"

Yes, Microsoft is paying them for exclusives. Some of them are timed exclusives though, that shows something.

Eternal Sonata did not do that good, okay in Japan and in America but a bomb in Europe, like I said, there is a reason why it was a timed exclusive.

"Sega is doing a mistake after another, if you want to spread the Yakuza brand over the West, you can’t leave the western leading platform (360) behind."

That would be the Wii, not the Xbox360, which is under really threat with the Playstation 3 now, which is number 2 in Japan, number 2 in Europe and by sometime next year, could very well be number 2 in America.

This is the better decision from what you see as a "Wrong" decision. There is nothing to indicate the Xbox360 would be a better userbase, like I said, if Yakuza 2 succedds in the West then yes they should perhaps think about it, but as Yakuza is more of a Japanese title, then it should stick on the PS3.

There is NOTHING to indicate that a Xbox360 port would work.

And anyway, SEGA has confirmed it as a PS3 exclusive so it doesn't matter anyway.
