[The card  used to test the game]

After developing the stellar Outrun 2, AM2 now tries to create a new racing IP, called R-Tuned: Ultimate Street Racing. That sure is a mouthful, maybe Japanese people like long names or a mouthful.

Before a start of a race you will be able to choose your neon lights and car of choice. Every street racer knows that neon lights are the most important thing about street racing. The demo version of the game had real time locations, these include the streets of Shinjuku, Shibuya, Hong-Kong, and New York.

IC cards will be used to save your data. Some modes revealed are battle, time attack, and competition. I don’t know what the competition mode is about since there isn’t much information on it. You will be able to play up to four players.

This game will feature super drift. This is done by moving the steering wheel to the right point and is made to be simple. Also worked into the game was unlimited super boost, meaning you can boost the whole race. But be careful, while in boost your steering wheel will shake, making it easier for you to loose control. Depending on how you do in a race, you will win money. This money can be used to buy new cars. The cabinet used for this game is the same one that AMPlus is using for Sega Race TV.

SUPER DRIFT WOOSH!!

This gaem looks tons better than these games where you get respect and prostitutes and aids and death. I really don’t get those games..

This kinda looks like Outrun but on real streets with tunned cars

Aids and death are used as a way of adding depth to those games…

…Can’t wait to see how this turns out.

Well since AM2 is making this, I am interested. I did like the initial D Arcade game and Loved outrun so i hope this combines both for extra arcadey drift matches.

god how i want a new outrun where i can cut the line and win affection from my crazy bitch of a girlfriend by smashing into other cars or drifting or avoiding UFOs…

SEGA Race TV can be purchased for arcades for $7,500 or so.

I can see why they closed sega racing studios - sega has never had a problem making racing games… just kind of silly that they opened a racing studio in the 1st place… tho i thought sega rally revo was a decent outing it didn’t have that same tension that i’m used to coming from the sega camp… anyway this looks great so far, though a bit western (unlimited boost LOL sounds like need for speed)… can’t wait to get my mits on this puppy!
