Sega gives gamers a taste of Sonic Chronicles, with official site

About a day or so ago, Sega launched the official Sonic Chronicles site. The site is flash-based and features a lot of what you might expect from any official site really; news, screenshots, videos, developer info etc… on the upcoming game, but it also has a bit of a unique aspect to it. It allows visitors to try out the game, online.
Ok let me explain. You don’t get to download a demo to your DS or anything (which would actually be damn cool), but the visitor can control Sonic around the site, in a similar fashion to playing the actual game.
When you hover the mouse over the main part of the screen, it changes into the shape of a DS stylus. As though you are touching the stylus to the screen (on the DS), Sonic will follow your mouse pointer where you move it to. (As the above picture shows).
You can run around collecting rings, talk to Knuckles, Shadow, Tails and Shade - to find out bits and pieces about the game. You also get to experience a bit of how the jumping and loops work. By moving next to a slightly higher ledge, or onto the base of a loop, an icon will appear, which you then click on, and Sonic will perform the desired action - just like on the DS.
I should note, however, that the actual DS game is a hell of a lot easier to control! I’m sure George and Diogo (who have both played versions of the game) will be able to vouch for that. So don’t judge the full game on this website, this is just meant to give gamers an idea of how everything works.
If you are finding it hard to movie Sonic around, or can’t be bothered, click on the bottom left icon and you will be given a little menu, offering the information without the leg-work.
Well if you fancy having a rough try on Sonic Chronicles, then visit the site now. The websites information is still not complete yet, Sega will update it in the coming months, for the game’s release.
[Update: Seems there is something wrong with the link I gave, and some people can’t seem to access it - while others can. For US viewers please try this link. For UK viewers try this link. If all else fails - perhaps follow this link to the Sonic Chronicles product page, and click the link to the ‘Microsite’ from there. Cheers.]

Is there something wrong here?
I can’t access that website at all.

The music is “Puppet Panic Zone” from Sonic 3D Blast (Saturn). I like that music too, and now it has to be in two shitty games. What a waste.
I do not like how “ambient” it is here, either.

The site felt nice to navigate, and while the way you interact with ledge sand jumps and stuff is ok, i still think it could ahve been a little more intuituve or user interactive, and by this i mean, why not have a jump button? As for the loop, id much rather have an interactive sequence, like drawing along the loop as he blasts through it, rather than jsut letting the game take over. With the loop the way it is, it feels as though the game wants to take over so you dont frig anything up :\

Also, if you want to have the interface totally controlled via the touchscreen, then have us tap the screen quickly to jump, problem solved lol

Uhm, I like the game a little bit more now and I’m not so scared of it. Didn’t like the gameplay, why not make a 2.5D like Sonic 3D, it’d probably be easier than this. Liked the music for Shade’s place a lot, since I even have it as my ring tone sometimes since 3D came out.
