Happy 17th birthday, Sonic!
On this day 17 years ago, our favorite blue hedgehog was unleashed upon the world and helped change the course of video gaming forever. Sonic the Hedgehog was released in North America and Europe on June 23, 1991, but Japanese gamers had to wait until late July to get their hands on the game, heh heh.
Despite some setbacks over the past 10 or so years, Sonic has seen a resurgence as of late, starring in the well-received Sonic and the Secret Rings and the immensely popular Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games. His next upcoming projects are Sonic Unleashed and Sonic Chronicles, two games that we can’t wait to get our hands on.

I bet he’s looking back at Sonic 2 and thinking of “the good ol’ days”.
Actually, me and TRiPPY were playing Sonic 3 the other night. We ain’t played any of the old Sonic’s in a while and we forgot just how good it was. That really was a class game.
Happy Brithday, Sonic. Here’s hoping you make that major comeback that everybody wants and the turn-around will be spectacular.

Ok today is sonic’s 17th birthday and I just wanted to say that sonic has been a great video game character and today I want to honor his birthday! So tell your story about how you found out about him and tell your story on how he changed your life. As for me I first knew about him when I was a little kid and I fell in love with his shampoo that he sold. So when it got kicked out of the market I couldn’t stop crying. After that I didn’t now about him sence the first episode sonicx. I started collecting after that and ever sence then his games have amazed me and I have loved his stories.
