That Crucible is a lie, Sega says don’t believe what you’ve seen

liecake.jpgA few days ago, a supposed gameplay video of Silicon Knight’s The Crucible leaked to the internet, but it appears it’s not the game the developer is creating for Sega, according to Steve Groll at Sega of America.

“That video is not the game that Silicon Knights is creating for us. I have no idea if it is a game they are working on for someone else, but it’s definitely not the project that Silicon Knights and Sega are producing,” Groll wrote to the MTV Multiplayer blog. “I can’t reveal any info about the game we currently have in development, but I can tell you that it is not titled ‘The Crucible.’ More news about our game coming soon.”

Several smart Sega Nerds were a bit suspicious of the video since the game is supposed to be more of a survival horror title, and the leaked video looked more like a third-person, team-based hack ‘n’ slash. It seemed things just didn’t add up, so now we get to look forward to seeing what the game really is.

The only thing we really know about the game is that it will appear on the PlayStation 3, but no other announcements have been made for the rest of the platforms.

Thank god, the game wasn’t looking very good.
The only thing i’m not happy to know, is that SK’s project it’s an exclusive for Ps3.
Bad move SEGA, you are not on a position to make games for just one console…

Hold on. Since when has it been a PS3 exclusive?

The original leak gave information about a Silicon Knights game called The Crucible - from Microsofts E3 leak.
That would imply that it is also due out for the Xbox 360, at least. I also heard it was for PC too.

It doesn’t say its exclusive, read it again. It says its only confirmed so far for the PS3.

Also, why didn’t SOA email us? Are we not awesome enough?

A long time ago, Sony published a document that had every PS3 game current or in development that was supposed to be compatible with the new DUALSHOCK controller, and The Crucible was on the list.

So we know it is coming for the PS3, but not necessarily if it’s coming for anything else.

Well the latest leaked document originally came from a Microsoft leak to do with their E3 line up this year. That document has The Crucible down on it too.
-High chances it will be multiplatform.

IF it were to be a PS3 exclusive, which I doubt, then it would finally be the defining reason for me to get a PS3. Otherwise, a Silicon Knights - Sega project is just the thing to make me excited for E3 revelations.

The game’s a multiplatform release its headed for PC 360 and ps3 but obviously changes has been made since then considering that the game is no longer called the Crucible according to Sega.
