Sega Japan shares some history

Here’s something I’m sure a lot of Sega Nerds will be into, a wealth of Sega history and information courtesy of Sega Japan.
Sega Japan has archived details on most of their old consoles, from the SC-3000 (Sega Computer 3000) to the Sega Saturn. Yep no Dreamcast, unfortunately, but I believe they are still updating the site, and so (hopefully) they will include Dreamcast information at some point.
I should point out that the information given isn’t the most in depth around. Really it’s just little bits and pieces, and you will no doubt find full details on sites like Wikipedia and various fansites.
But the main thing is that Sega Japan is showing off their old systems, which no other Sega site seems to be doing. I have always felt that it’s almost like Sega are trying to forget about their classic consoles, so I’m happy to see some official information, even if it’s only small.
Not only have they supplied bits of information on their hardware, but the site also includes every issue of “Joy Joy News” - a newsletter/magazine about the Sega Mark III (Master System). While the Joy Joy News pages are all in Japanese, the cool, retro images should be enough that even if you can’t read the language, you should get some enjoyment from looking at them.
So check out the archives here in Japanese, or the translated version here. (Translated by Google)

Perhaps they want to raise awareness because of Master System’s inclusion on VC.
In any case this is really neat. Thanks for pointing this out!

Known about this for ages, looks like they haven’t updated in at least a year. Love the classic artwork, though.

This is pretty awesome!
I’m really enjoying it and hope they bring this over to the western Sega websites.
I also hope they add the Dreamcast… I don’t see why they wouldn’t.

It is an old site. It was removed when Sega renewed their sites. I take a lot of information from there; they have all software list for the past consoles. Very good!!!
