Meet my girlfriend - EMA!
Ok, no it’s not my actual girlfriend, but rather a new gadget from Sega Toys.
“EMA,” or Eternal Maiden Actualization, stands at 38cm tall (just over a foot) and has the abilities to sing, dance and walk “like a lady,” according to Sega. Internal infra-red sensors also allow for a high level of interactivity with humans, and EMA can register anyone in her proximity. One of her ‘tricks’ is her ability to hand out business cards.
Now for those looking forward to a future with ’sex bots’ or girlfriends you can control, (actually I think all red-blooded men will fit into either of those categories), then the future could be looking good, thanks to EMA. While EMA may not be of a suitable height, shape or even perform in bed, she does have a bit of a risque side to her. Should anyone put their head close enough to hers, then she will lean forward and kiss the person in front of her. Fantastic, eh?
The downsides are that; it will only be available in Japan, it will cost around $175, and anyone dying to get a peck on the cheek, from a midget-bot will have to wait until September 26th, when she goes on sale.
For those than can read Japanese, check out the PDF for more information.

They’re coming. Soon the robot overlords will take this world, and it will be humans who do the sex botting.
Hide me. :(

$175 isn’t so bad.

I think $175 isn’t massively over-priced - for what it is. But I can see that it will put a fair few people off buying it.

@landman: Don’t worry, I got your joke before you explained it. :)
Are you on the PS2/PC or 360 servers?
@everyone: SEGA is merely prototyping their future console hardware secretly through SegaToys with it’s Homestar, EMA, Private Ocean(which looks like a oversized VMU), etc!

I see where you’re going at.
The EMA is designed for compact hardware, compacting information and functionality, The Private Ocean is for software output including graphics and visual display, and the Homestar is for formatting the whole package (not the design itself, but for assembling the hardware and software development).
I could see further development where the console could integrate with the user better than the standard console design.
But don’t mind me.
I think that this product is cool and a symbol of how much robotics have advanced from the Robocrapien from both abilities and design.

@Landman - Ah I see now. Sorry, but I dislike almost everything about PSU.
That’s why I didn’t get it :)
