That’s right, it’s Mr Yu Suzuki’s (or rather Suzuki-san’s) 50th birthday today!
Born and raised in Iwate, (Honshu), Japan on June 1oth 1958 - Yu Suzuki is famous for helping to create some of Sega’s most memorable arcade and console franchises, including (not limited to);
- OutRun
- Hang-On
- Space Harrier
- After Burner
- Virtua Cop
- Virtua Fighter
- Virtua Racing
- Ferrari 355 Challenge
- (And of course) Shenmue
Yes, Yu Suzuki has definitely helped shape the world of gaming, and we at Sega Nerds wish him many more years of happy, productive gaming ;O)
All that’s left to say is;

Virtua Cop 4 please! Virtua Cop 3 and Virtua Fighter series are a few of my favorite games ever created.

I can’t believe how awesome it is that I share a birthday with the legendary Yu Suzuki. Especially since he was the man behind OutRun. And that’s one of my most favorite games ever made.
