There are other devices that allow you to insert Genesis carts. I can't remember its name, but I know it had the letter X in it, and you could play NES and Genesis games on it. It sells online for about $40 (I think). This one is pretty cool though because it has the 20 games built into it. I'm just waiting for someone to put an SNES and Genesis together so I can buy THAT.

Just about every game I've thrown at DGEN works perfectly, one or two with slight slowdown or small frame problems. I genuinely would have no one interested enough to play Mega Drive with me if I had one. Anyway, playing it on the 'blurry' (that's a bit... ill informed) screen of the PSP beats playing it super strected across a 1366 x 766 TV through a wimpy composite connection.

PSP is a really really bad way of playing genesis. The blurry screen, slowdowns, rom compatibility, singleplayer only.. Playing the real thing just blows away every other way of playing it ;)

Clever, but I'll stick to playing them on my PSP. I don't think I'll ever sell my PSP, it's fan-fucking-tastic.

The Sonic game they choose is Sonic and Knuckles? That is the worse "stand alone" Sonic platformer on the system(ignoring a certain pile of shite everyone knows about).

I still hate these things, I have a similar one and the sound is fucking horrible. I bet this will be too as no one ever gets it right. A real Megadrive is also cheaper than this.

lol I too enjoy a good session of Virtua Racing on my Megadrive :)
Though the Saturn version is my favourite (more tracks and different vehicles to choose from)

And I believe it will run Virtua Racing - the VR cart had an extra chip inside, which allowed it to do the 3D graphics. Or so I am told.

Nice. I might need one of these bad boys as my original Genesis reads the cartridges maybe one out of every four attempts...

But will this thing run Virtua Racing? Better yet, am I the only one who would actually play that port?
