First official Sonic Chronicles trailer shown

by Graham on June 4th, 2008

IGN has put up the first trailer for the upcoming DS title, Sonic Chronicles, the trailer may only show a little bit of gameplay, but so far it’s looking pretty solid.

While Sonic may not be the most popular Sega character these days, we are pretty excited about this game here at Sega Nerds, as we have helped to contribute something towards the game ourselves. And we are looking forward to seeing exactly what role “The Zoah” will play in the game’s story.

So far we have only been told a little bit about the plot for the game, involving Knuckles being kidnapped, and Sonic (and chums) having to head off to rescue him. However, we have been told that this is just a minor part of the overall story, and Knuckles being kidnapped is solved pretty early on in the game.

Fingers crossed it will actually be good.

20 opinions for First official Sonic Chronicles trailer shown

    “And”,”And”, Wherefore art thou, “And”?

Seriously, There’s supposed to be an “And” between the “two thousand” and the “eight” in “two thousand and eight”.

Not exactly impressed by the rest of the trailer, either. Just feels really tacky.

I think it looks fantastic. I’m fairly hyped for this one, although I’d like to see a Sonic RPG on a cosole as well. It just doesn’t feel as epic on a little screen to me.

it looks like Sonic 3D ._.

No Pur, you puss filled vagina, the “and” is not required. It is merely there to make it easier to say. It should not be written generally.

This game does look kind of crappy. I might get it after it goes down in price after a year.

What’s with all the super awkward flash animations during the trailer?

And shut the hell up, Kogen. The man simply wants an “and” in his date, it’s not like he did anything to you.

Yeah, but what next? Wheel chair ramps going up to G’s face when he wants some?

Are you all blind??? This looks atrociously bad! I know there wasn’t much real gameplay shown, but it speaks volumes about this project’s lack of a coherent/appealing presentation!

Some parts of the trailer reminds me of Zelda: Wind Waker(Just the 2D parts).

Radrappy, it supposed to be presented like a comic book. What’s wrong with that?

Of course comic book styling is fine. What’s wrong with it is that it looks terrible. It looks like leapfrog quality animation and presentation, shitty flash head bobbing notwithstanding. Where is the polish???

    Why so many question marks???

I doubt Bioware made that trailer.

If that’s true, I don’t understand why they even released this trailer. Even if you don’t think it looks bad, do you really think this is selling the game to any non sonic fans?

Also doesn’t my adding more question marks better convey my disbelief????

It’ll sell anyway. That’s what Sonic does; even his crap games keep steady pace on the market.

I think the trailer looks fine. Just enough product inflation and not enough in-game footage - you know, like every other trailer out there. I’m not the biggest RPG fan, and I’ll probably never get this game, but it should be good all the same. Can’t be as bad as that shitty Mario RPG that everyone loved.

    And I don’t have a DS. Can’t forget that.

“Even if you don’t think it looks bad, do you really think this is selling the game to any non sonic fans?”

I don’t know, I always imagined they make these trailer specfically for Sonic fans, I mean we did see that awful trailer for Shadow the Hedgehog long ago…And then Silver the Hedgehog with all the CGI only Sonic fans would be interested in…Even that Secret Rings trailer, half of it was full of CGI.

I like the Flash style animation in this trailer. I only hope it as good as comic book format use in Sonic and the Secret Rings.

isint that the same narrator that always goes like “in a world, where…”? his voice is so cliche it dont allow me to take the trailer seriously

    “In a world, where eggman…”

After seeing this, I don’t think the advertisement pulled through at all. Like many others, I’ll buy this game, but not because of that!

For the most part, the name “Eggman” has lost it’s title after Sonic Adventure. Bring back Robotnik!

Haha, that trailer was laughably bad. I kept waiting for the part where the characters do something goofy to make it look more like a Sonic story should.

    This was just corny.
