More Shenmue III rumours emerging, must be close to E3 again!

It seems that just before a major gaming expo, rumours of some of Sega’s classic great roll out from forums and sites. You get the odd, “Skies of Arcadia 2“, maybe a little “NiGHTS coming to 360/PS3″ - but always you hear “Shenmue III going to be announced at this years *insert reputable exhibition here*”
Well this summer is no different. We are about 2 months away from E3 2008 and, low and behold, rumours of Shenmue III are springing up once again! As Play.tm report;
“It was last week rumoured that Shenmue III could be in top-secret development at Sega, the Japanese publisher plotting an E3 unveiling in July.”
“Quite where this chit-chat emerged from remains unclear, although Sega’s recent announcement that it has licensed Epic’s Unreal Engine technology for a new title was greeted by the advent of these rumours pointing to Shenmue III.”
Now just to point out, I’m not wanting to bring a massive downer on idea of a Shenmue sequel. I would be so damn happy if Sega did release/announce the game (as well as Skies of Arcadia 2 and NiGHTS 360). But it is kind of getting ridiculous that every time a convention rolls round we hear the same old rumours.
How about fans out there think up some new ones for us to feed off? Like a new Streets of Rage, a new Crazy Taxi, or maybe a new Virtua Racing?!
Imagine that, a new Virtua Racing? I don’t even know how that would work considering 3D graphics have somewhat advanced over the old plain polygons of the early 90’s, it would just be another next-gen racing title surely… but what a rumour that would make!

Shenmue3(best game ever) and maybe a new Panzer Dragon would be awesome for all SEGA fans.
Make it happen…

Shenmue 3 doesn’t exist. The next Shenmue game will be a compilation of Shenmue 1, 2, and 3 into one game.
And, it probably won’t be called Shenmue, at least, not in the United States. Sega lost a lot of cash because people don’t want to buy a game… that they can’t pronounce by looking at it.
Other than that… the game is in the can already. It’s amazing how little it changes with each iteration, from Saturn (not released), to Dreamcast, to Xbox (well, that was a port), and now to current-gen.

If only just ONE of these rumours turned out to be ture…
Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Panzer Dragoon and Jet Set Radio all need to happen! If only to stop the bloody rumours every freaking event!

Yeah I’m actually starting to think people only come out with these rumours because on the off chance they actually turn out to be true, they will all say “I told you so!”

Since Shenmue 2 sucked and no one buys the games, it is a waste of effort. I still do not believe it at all.
And who can not pronounce “Shenmue” ? It is a fairly easy word to say.
Personally I would just like a remake of the first game if they were ever going to do another.
Also for E3, I would rather they just announced another action game or a platformer. Sonic sucks now and Golden Axe is not looking too good at the moment. Shinobi, Monster World, Alex Kidd, something new… anything would be good.

I hope you mean that Shenmue II’s SALES sucked and not the game. If you think the game sucks then you are a seriously confused person.
And, yes, the rumors are tiring by now. All those Kikizu lies and kinda-sorta promising dev quotes have made me numb to these yearly rumor cycles. Prove me wrong please, but I highly doubt it.
SoA and JSR sequels would also make my year, but I won’t hold my breath for that either (though SoA is a little more believable…).

As I said at Dojo,
SEGA might not announce
something like Shenmue at E3 which is a western event (especially now, since it has become very small)…however nothing is impossible, I mean maybe they come with a 360-exclusive announcement…so E3 won’t be a weak place for announcing something big like next Shenmue games, beside I hope they also add Shenmue Online to Shenmue III as an Online mode, in this way we can also have a MMO experience beside the core series which will never ends.
Overall, Shenmue for E3 is a possibility, …but TGS has always a bigger change to meet Yu Suzuki’s next sequel.

Ryu Ga Gotoku 1-3 seem like perfectly serviceable Shenmue follow ups to me.

When is E3 this year, exactly?
As for Shenmue 3. As much as i want this rumour to be true i am highly doubting it.
The NiGHTS fanbase went through this for 11 years. Every year there was ‘rumours’ of another game coming out and it amounted to nothing. Sadly, i see the Shenmue series suffering the same kind of deal here. We may have to wait a very long time until we ever see a Shenmue 3.

Will SegaNerds be able to attend E3 this year? Inside coverage would be pretty sweet~
But anyway, as much as I’d love to see Shenmue III, it seems to be the least likely to happen out of all the rumours…
Skies 2 seems to be a likely candidate though, especially with Vyse & Aika’s guest appearance in Valkyria Chronicles.

Virtua Racing Mega Deluxe for Wiiware with classic graphics and a track maker and online play. Id buy that.
Streets of rage would make a nice comeback, but Id rather it be a remake of the origonals
We passed the mark of making games new and exciting. Theres not alot of “New” to do anymore.
Lets just focus on good games and take what we have to its utmost limits like the old days. In other words less FMVs >.>

New Phantasy Star, Jet Grind Radio, good voices for Sonic games, Skies of Arcadia 2, Viking 2, Panzer Dragoon, a new Vectorman, the rights to release new Jazz Jackrabbit games (hey, they did just get some Epic technology), and Shenmue 3 would all be welcome announcements. Even better would be the home port of Virtua Cop 3, and further Virtua Cop/Fighter/Tennis announcements, along with the House of the Dead 1 & 4 Return for the Wii.

Wow. It’s nice to dream, even if it is in vain.
And Skies of Arcadia 2 would be equally tubular. (even though it’s not even rumoured right now… well it always is somewhat, but there’s no new reports).

how about a burning rangers 2 live for 360/ps3. tree players go on fire infested mazes to rescue ppl, while a 4th player sits on the ship giving directions to everyone.
