New Dinosaur Kingdom videos released

Sega shot us a couple new gameplay videos for its upcoming Nintendo DS Pokemon ripoff RPG Dinosaur Kingdom that’s set to release this fall. In the game, you’ll be tasked with excavating dinosaur fossils, then bringing them back to life with a DinoShot, allowing you to battle them against your foes.
The game features more than 100 dinosaurs with 240 special moves, five continents to explore, upgradeable hunting equipment and the ability to battle and trade against real people via Wi-Fi.
Seriously though, am I the only one who feels sorry for these poor dinosaurs? They were first violently cast into extinction by the worst natural disaster in the history of our planet and are now being resurrected millions of years later to fight against each other for the enjoyment of some bratty kids. Psshh.

Isn’t this game based of Sega’s Beetle Collection system?
I guess Sega moved on…

yeah it is and its nothing like Pokemon in that they battle for fun, its more serious than that first they fight the bad guys to retrive or save these uncaptured dinosaur cards from them and then the good guys and the bad guys team up to save the world from this alien menace who start to use dinosaurs for some mystic stone. What is like pokemon is that they use the same cast that did the english dub and they both have yellow mascots who use electricity.

The music, graphics, and overall design remind me heavily of Monster Rancher. Is that franchise still around?

“Go stegosaurus!” Stego:”what the crap am I doing here? Wait what the? T-Rex! Oh crap…..” “Use thundershoot stegosaurus!” Stego:”What? Why is that kid yelling at me?” T-rex:”Rawr!” *ROCK SLAM!” *FATALITY!* Kid:”oh well, I’ll go find a new one! Lalala la la”
Ya, I feel bad watching that fight there.
Though the fighting is good and all, it just feels wrong. I mean, good animation and the like. Its just wrong…
Also the Ro Sham Bo mechanic is over used for these sorta things and really dumbs down the game for the dumbest of kids.
A little complication doesnt hurt. Litte kids can think too.
Well, not so much these days, but still, a little more depth wouldnt hurt ya?
