With all the great console games Sega’s been throwing at us in recent months, it’s sometimes easy to forget that the company also publishes PC games … and good ones at that too.
Speaking of good Sega published PC games, Sega just released this interesting Empire: Total War developer commentary that sheds light in how Creative Assembly motion captures its dueling mode.
Total War is scheduled for a worldwide winter 2008 release.

Of all the things to do a video about, they chose this? How boring.

Well, at least it’s an actual behind-the-scenes video instead of that ridiculous Incredible Hulk video Sega released a week or so ago.

This is awesome! Effective animation needs things like this, many games use stuntmen or martial artist these days to create this stuff. Much like God of War and Soul Calibur.

It should be very impressive when seeing a thousand troops doing this kind of thing all togeather.

I am fairly sure this is mostly for ship boardings. Regular troops will likely not even carry swords at all; likely only officiers and such.
Might get them with lesser advanced factions though, so maybe you could see large numbers of them like that.
