Anyone wanna guess that they may have the guts of a Dreamcast powering the graphics for this thing? Those are clearly Sonic Adventure 2 models being used there.

Probably, as it needs to be affordable and SA2 is the finest looking 3D Sonic on the system at a technical level.
But really, the core basic concept of this looks better than Sonic games now. If it was not a dumb slot machine, it would easily look like Sonic Adventure 3(providing you can not read the Japanese text…). Even the cast is the same as SA there, except with Shadow instead of Gamma.
Also look at the front logos. Besides the manly face of Amy, it looks very Sonicy. Sonic is even in a band again like Sonic Jam, and they let Knuckles in it this time. It is that type of mild “goofyness” that really added to Sonic before and it needs to be applied to the games again. I know this is kind of dumb since it is a slot machine, but it truly looks more Sonicy than the damn games.
Also what are these 3D models for? They have been appearing on Sonic Channel for awhile. I can only assume Unleashed; thusly this hints at the cast of that game. I doubt they made them specifically for this slot machine.

I’ve seen some of those 3D models before. The one for Big is from Sonic Adventure DX, for example.
But yeah, this looks a lot better than Unleashed =(

Ya I kinda agree with the others. Though I think its the remasterd animations that make everything stand out.
The chaos didnt really have that much personality in the origonal game cuase they didnt really have any cut scenes.
Maybe the next sonic game should all be slot machine games.
Though they’ll probly put sonic on a unicycle….

I find it funny how the battle sequences in this game where Sonic and Shadow or who ever are running are actually better then any thing ive seen in a 3D Sonic game probably ever.

Ryan, try playing one. To their credit, they involve more than running in a straight line. This is Sonic Rush you are thinking of.

The designs look cool, even if they are using previously used character models and backgrounds.
Even though Sega Sammy has been losing money with their pachinco businesses, is slot machines also attached to this problem?
