Rumor: Shenmue port coming to the Wii
According to Swedish magazine ‘Game Reactor’, Sega will port both Shenmue 1 and 2 to Nintendo’s Wii. Not just that, they will also add exclusive mini games built around the Wiimote. This was posted in their ‘Rumor Section’.
Shenmue is back! Sega has rereleased classics like Nights,Bass Fishing and House of the Dead lately. Now it’s said that Shenmue is next. But don’t think that it’s about a new game, instead, they’re bringing back the two original Shenmue games with extra Wiimote-minigames which will be released for the Wii.
Well, I wouldn’t hold my breath for this. But lets just say, I’d buy it on day one. No questions asked!

If Sega does it, the sequel(Shenmue 3) will be released on Wii. And for God’s love, I DON’T WANT [SHENMUE 3] on the WII!! NEVER!!! I HATE the graphics from this machine!
This is a nightmare!!! I’m OK for ports, just don’t make the sequels on this platform.

It might look good. However, it would be nice for Shemue 3 to come out or a new Wii IP.

lol, SEGA’s best sales have come from the Wii, City Hunter. The Wii is Shenmue’s last chance of capturing an audience.
Honestly, I want a sequel, no matter what the platform is. If it’s on the Wii, then it’s on the Wii.

I’ll take a sequel in any way I can. Whether it be a collection of books or a cellphone game, anything will do at this point.

Um Hello! The Wii has the lowest attach rate of all the console’s, 100K sold won’t exactly bring in new Shenmue fans.
Every other Dreamcast port on the Wii sold like shit, this one will be no different.

I have massive doubts about this rumor, and even though I’m no graphics whore, Shenmue is just all around better suited for PS3 (or to a lesser extent 360) release. At its core it was a Virtua Fighter project, so waggle control is a NO.
At the same time I’d welcome any attempt to resurrect the series…….

Although after such countless other “epic” games have come and gone, I wonder how the market would receive it. Amidst all the other high-profile titles, Shenmue might fall by the wayside. Although I’d still pick it up considering I never got around to finding, downloading, or trying Shenmue II for any system…

George: Shenmue selling 300k will be a failure, you realize they need atleast 1.5 million to match the original sales, right.
A arcade shooter is much different then a RPG type game.

omgomg omg yes, this will finances shenmue 3 but i hope its not only on wii.. hope they up the graphics and remove the bad from both episodes and keep and tweak the best things in shenmue’s world.. (story gameplay, etc).. omg now i have to buy a wii.. lol
