Well if Iron Man fared better with the critics it could’ve done better.

If the Iron Man game is selling, then why is the movie bombing?

I wouldn’t say the movie is bombing. Iron Man, the Movie, got a 93% at RottenTomatoes, and it made more than $100 million.

I stand corrected. I’m actually glad because I kinda liked the movie. The game is another matter. Sadly, the game is selling too. I say “sadly” because as long as rotten movie-to-game adaptations sell well, publishers would keep on churning such products.
I can’t speak for the Iron Man game, but according to what I’ve seen, it’s “fair” at best.
