Some changes on the horizon at Sega Nerds

Dear fellow Sega Nerds,
As you know, we’re constantly working to try to make our site and community better, and I have a few announcements today that we hope will certainly do that.
We are pleased to announce a partnership between us and the b5media blog network. b5 is one of the fastest growing blog networks around, and they have more than 300 unique blogs under their banner. Sega Nerds will soon join their Video Game Channel, which is made up of some great sites like Siliconera and Ironic Gamer.
You probably know that we’ve had some hosting troubles during the past couple months. This move will fix that as we’ll be moving completely over to the b5 servers, which are both fast and stable. In addition to that, b5 will provide a steady flow of income and advertising that we’ve never had. That new income will help the Sega Nerds staff travel to various industry events to give you even better Sega coverage.
In coming together with b5, we’ll be using their standard theme that will be tailored to our preferences. This means that our original redesign will have to take a back seat for the time being, but you will see portions of it making the transition to our new b5 design.
In conjunction with this move to b5, we’ll finally be revealing our serial features, which will give our readers an original feature every day of the week. These features will range from retro video reviews to better coverage of the homebrew/indie development scene. We’re really excited to greatly expand our content, and we think you’ll enjoy Sega Nerds even more because of it.
Because b5 is a blog network only, we aren’t able to bring our forums with us. We had a few options, one of which included completely abandoning them altogether. However, we knew that we wanted to continue to build our constantly growing community. So we’ll be hosting our forums on a different server and changing its URL to www.seganerdsforums.com. A forum redesign is currently in the works, and you’ll be seeing one that better complements our main site in the near future.
There are also some other things in the works that I’m not ready to announce just yet, but they’ll certainly help the Sega Nerds name get better recognized within the gaming community.
Our goal from the beginning was to become the #1 source for people everywhere to get their Sega news. We think we’re nearly there, if we aren’t already. But we want to do more than just provide you with news; we want to broaden our content base, and we think these moves will help do that.
From now up until we actually move onto b5’s servers, you won’t see any new posts on the site, but don’t worry, we’ll be back very soon to give you the goods!
Respectfully,
Chris Powell

Sorry to hear that cool new redesign wont be used.
And advertising? Yeesh, so does that mean we should expect dozens of ugly banner ads all over the site?

As long as the ads aren’t in the middle of text like a lot of popluar blogs, I’m fine with it. Or those really anoyying ones that move/make noises.

Don’t worry, guys. The ads will not be obtrusive, but it’s a necessary evil in this line of business. We gotta make some cash!

Margin ads aren’t too obtrusive, and banner ads are alright. It’s the random ads speckled between blog posts that get irritating.
I’m not going to see any of them anyway, but still.

These are the colors Brian, the design guy came up with. I like them, but I think I might prefer to have the background a shade of blue.
If you have other suggestions, let me know because we can always change up the colors.
