Sega to co-publish Operation Darkness

News has reached Sega Nerds that Segais teaming up with Atlus to bring Operation Darkness to a western audience this summer.
The title, a strategy/RPG with a twist, is developed by Japanese developer Success, and was released in Japan late last year.
In Operation Darkness the player is thrown into the midst of an alternate World War II in which the supernatural forces of the occult are playing a massive role. Werewolves, vampires, and authentic World War weaponry will mesh together into an intriguing package.

The strategy title uses an innovative cover system in conjunction with some of the more traditional squad-based strategy elements gamers have come to expect from the genre.
Operation Darkness is scheduled to release in the U.S. on June 24th.
A demo of the game will be hitting XBOX Live on May 5th. Stay tuned for our in-depth demo analysis.

Werewolf Hitler > Werewolf Sonic
Though I’m surprised they’re getting away with putting a swastika on the case, usually people have a retarded fit about that.

Well, you actually ARE fighting Nazis and Hitler in this game. It’s when that sort of thing is randomly tossed in without context that people throw (the biggest) fits, really.

Any chance of a european release, since Sega is co-publishing this?
And what about Spectral Force 3?

Spectral Force 3 is being released in the US by Atlus, not sure about Europe, though. Do Atlus titles usually have or lack region encoding? I’m not sure.

Sega already kinda published this in Japan under the Sega freinds network in japan. That’s the second title from that umbrella to be published by Sega in the west, the first being ARMOURED CORE 4.

I love the Segatlus teamup, but I also find it hilarious how even the 360’s strategy RPGs are completely generic shooters.

Name one other WW2 shooter with vampires, werewolves, and the undead in it.

You are correct James. Wolfenstein was WWII.
