Sega reveals Super Monkey Ball for iPhone

So Sega’s developing software for the iPhone using Apple’s new software development kit, and it just revealed its first title on the platform during a town-hall meeting – Super Monkey Ball. Gizmodo was there and apparently the game runs really smooth.
“The iPhone OS is a robust development platform that will allow Sega to deliver mobile gaming experiences that are truly compelling,” said Simon Jeffrey, Sega of America president. “Using the iPhone’s accelerometer to power a tilt control feature adds a whole new dimension to Super Monkey Ball, and we can’t wait for gamers to try it.”
We’re sure there’s someone out there really excited about this news. Someone … somewhere. Just not here.

I’m not all that interested yet, but I sure will try it when it’s out. The other news is more interesting than novelty accelerometer games I’ll tire of in 10 minutes - I have a Wii for that.

As a SMB fan, I would love to try it on the iPhone… I just don’t have one.

Well, I’ll have to buy this one!
Right now my website (http://iphonegaming.com) really only has free online games but the new ones utilizing the SDK will blow all of these out of the water.
Even still, I don’t think there will be THAT many games using the SDK…and I only say that since iPhoneGaming has like 330 games right now.
