Sega no longer ‘Presents Touch Darts’

If you are lucky enough to live in Europe or PAL land, then you might have had the chance to get your hands on the fantastic DS title, Touch Darts.
It was released in Europe last June by Sega Europe, but Sega America did not seem too keen on releasing a version stateside. I guess you could argue that Darts perhaps isn’t quite as popular in the US (though I’m not sure if that is true), or perhaps the American public just don’t think that a darts video game will be much fun.
Anyone who has actually played Touch Darts will know that it is surprisingly addictive and brilliant fun. I for one scoffed at the idea of the game, until I got my hands on a copy, and it has since become one of the best DS games I have ever played!
Well the gods now shine down upon the US, as Agetec (a company I know nothing about), has been given the go ahead to release the game in America.
So Sega America, it seems, still has nothing to do with this version of the game, and as a result the game has undergone a very slight name change, but one that won’t affect anyone too much. To give the game it’s full name in Europe, “Sega Presents Touch Darts” now just simply becomes “Touch Darts” - which is what everyone called it anyway! (And now you understand the article header, eh?)
Touch Darts is set for a May 2008 release in the US, but is freely available in most good games stores throughout Europe. If you want a good, easy to play and fun game for your DS, I strongly suggest buying Touch Darts, it is shockingly enjoyable.

Agetec is well known and respected for porting Fatal Fury: Mark Of The Wolfves to Dreamcast, which is unarguably my favourite SNK game.

Agetec is a name I hear often, but I don’t know much about them. All I can remember about them offhand is that they had some hand in the Armored Core games, and they brought The Adventures of Cookie and Cream to America, one of my first Playstation 2 games… I miss it.
Anyways… on topic. Really, I want to take you opinion on how great it is and all of that, but would it have killed them to at least try to add some originality to the game? They could have slapped on a random mascot and it would have sold twice as well instantly.

Agetec co-released Space Channel 5: Special Edition for the PS2, so I assume they have some affiliation with SEGA.
