Sonic appears in new Simpsons episode

Apparently this week on The Simpsons, they had a ‘90’s flashback‘ episode. Well, low and behold, Sonic was in this episode and they weren’t calling him crap. Isn’t that refreshing?
I can’t wait to see Sonic fans cry, saying that Sonic is out of character. I mean he’ll never propose to Amy.

They could have at least researched enough to give Amy her 90s design or could have put the pink version of Sally there instead because Sally was wildly popular during the 90s when Sega didn’t give a crap.

Only in America though, the Archies toon never hit off here and instead it was all about Fleetway, which Amy was a main character too.

So now he’s become gag material… great.
If they happened to use Amy’s old design, nobody would have recognized her (by nobody I mean most people, like Leaf), and the joke would have been “+85 nrd”.

-I think it’s a pretty good joke to have in the Simpsons.
(Though I think it would have been more humerous to see this in an episode of Futurama)

Sonic telling Bart to steal a game was better in the older episode.
Though The Simpsons is at about the same quality as Sonic now.

“I think the people at Sega Nerds need to actually play Sonic games instead of trying to comment on them.
If they did then they would see that there is utterly no love between Sonic and Elise at all so much as it’s a deep respect which turns into friendship for Sonic and best friends for Elise. There is utterly nothing more between them.”

The shoes thing even happened in the OVA (with Knuckles’ shoes more precisely), it isn’t important. The only people who might fully get the joke must have watched AoStH and followed the last bunch of stinkers– err, games.

As a matter of fact, the Sonic fans didn’t cry. They took it with good humor, and went on to nitpick at the design mistakes.
That said, it was funny. I don’t really watch the Simpsons anymore, at least out of nothing more then passive curiosity.
By the way, Mario has already been parodied quite a few times in the Simpsons…so none of “it’s come to this” comments, alright? Being parodied on the Simpsons isn’t a sign that it’s hit rock bottom. Being parodied on FAMILY GUY is hitting rock bottom. The SImpsons just pokes fun at everything.

Well, there had to be a reason sonic always ran away from amy.
Though you’d think he’d give her a break after fifteen years.
To think they’ve been married this whole time xD lol
I did always hate those “Sonic Says” annoying bits.
Its actually nice to see some recongition to sonic in there.
Though I think they only do that becuase of expecting their game to draw in a crowd. So they throw in a little more game jokes.
Usually its just mario or tetris I think.
Personally I dont watch simpsons though. Not since I was younger and the arcade game was kicking around everywhere.

That’s pretty funny. I actually watched tha horrible, horrible episode to see Weird Al’s cameo, which was not worth the torment of sitting through the show. I must have missed that gag when I was throwing up fro mthe fact that The Simpsons went from being one of the best shows ever to something that tries to make a story work around a pile of lame, cheesey setup jokes instead of putting jokes into a good story. Don’t even get me started on how the 90’s flashback goes against the whole plot of the show and the entire backstory, but good to see Sonic getting some exposure. I see it as an acknowledgement of his dominance on the 90’s. At least the early 90’s.
The 90’s were awesome.
