Uwe Boll lashes out at House of the Dead fans
Posted by Ryan. Filed under News, Ryan.
In a recent interview broadcast on Red Eye with Greg Gutfeld, by Fox News, Uwe Boll was asked how he dealt with gamers who complain about his (absolute shite excuse for) movies. His answer?
“A lot of video games have no story. I did the movie House of the Dead and got bashed and I said, what were you expecting, Schindler’s List? I showed zombies chasing people and this is basically what the movie delivers.
“I don’t know what they were expecting if you make a movie based on an ego shooter where you kill ninety minutes of people non-stop.”
In reply to Internet critics he went onto say,
“They don’t have their own life and they’re still sitting at Mommy’s table every lunch”.
Well I put this to you Mr Boll, House of the Dead the arcade game delivered a better and more compelling storyline than your straight to DVD piece of shit excuse for a movie adaptation. Hell, I’ve seen porn with better scripts than your movies.
I think it’s about time you gave up ruining the image of video games; you’re a failure as a film director. But cheer up, put away your toy camera because I think I can hear your mummy calling, your lunch is ready… It’s alphabetti spaghetti!

I approve of a zombie Jew movie. Though Mel Gibson should direct it since he admits he sucks too much.

I rather liked the scurvey pirate from the film, I thought he was a joke for like 20 min. until i relized that was what he was like.

I don’t know the story in House Of The Dead game (acting wise) is so bad it is actually funny. nonetheless absoloute crap.
His movie is legendary because you get to see Erica Durrance’s most revealing performance that alone has given the movie a cult following, aside from that Ona Grauer is in that movie and is looking HOT!
Also note this movie was very diffrent from Resident Evil in style, and HOTD was released before Dawn Of The Dead so it sort of introduced the crazy running zombies (28 Days Series do not contain zombies, they are the infected).
The movie serves as an amusing prequel to HOTD, towards the end of the movie it is revealed that the male lead’s last name is Curien, ala Dr. Curien.
Watch the movie with Producer Mark Altman’s commentary and he explains everything, including the setbacks and even goes as far as to diss the movie at many points and even Uwe Boll (while showing respect to him aswell).
Contrary to popular belief that the budget of the movie was near 20 Million and the shooting was finished sooner then expected, Mark Altman explains in his commentary that the actual budget of the Film was MUCH MUCH less then 5 million (i think he said 1 or 2 mill).
Lastly I just want to clear that I am not an Uwe Boll fan, but a Mark Altman fan.

Ignore the word Don’t in the first sentene, and the major grammar errors, I should’ve read it once before posting sorry.

I saw this movie in theatres, and my friends will remember me for life for choosing it…

I really don’t know what to say about this. It’s so hysterical that he feels somehow justified in making steaming piles of crap because he has no respect for the source material.
My girlfriend is currently making a Ben 10 cake for my nephew. Using this logic, she should just put some icing on some stale fruit cake and use the rationale that “Hey, the cartoon was crap to begin with, so what did you expect from the cake?”

Dawn of the Dead came out in 1978.

I was talking about the remakes where we have running zombies.

I liked the general idea behind the House of the Dead movie - like how it is a prequel….
BUT it is possibly one of the worst movies ever made. The only saving features are the naked ladies - and the very last line in the movie - where the guy tells them that he is Curien.
-I also saw some of Blood Rayne, fell asleep after like 30mins….

While Uwe Boll is a twat, misleading news titles just aint kosher, Sharky. No where in that quote does he lash out at HotD fans. He just shows how little appreciation he has for the source material.

That said…this dude is the biggest asshole to ever grace the silver screen. I mean, seriously, how blind can one man be? Everytime someone gives him criticism, even CONSTRUCTIVE, KIND criticism, the dude lashes and and makes ridiculous comments like “They don’t have their own life and their living with mommy.”
Seriously…who is this guy? A 12 year old blogger? What kind of director TALKS like that?
To make matters worse, everytime someone tells him his movies are shit, he ALWAYS goes back to the source material, insulting it. Maybe if the source material doesn’t make a good movie, YOU SHOULD PICK BETTER SOURCE MATERIAL. There are plenty of games out there that could easily make excellent movies, if he only had the intelligence and resolve to get off his ass and MAKE SOMETHING good.
Fucking twat. Bet he never even played House of the Dead.

Actually the DVD does show him play the game.
I have to agree the guy is messed up though.

Uwe Boll is an easy target for fanboys. I wonder if this blog would have the balls to call out one of the popular fanboy directors. There are certainly plenty of bad movies being made today with huge budgets that get raves from fanboys, including video game adaptaions.
Uwe is hardly “ruining the image of video games”…as we all know Nintendo has been doing that for years. Do Nintendo games even have plots anymore? Uwe Boll’s HOTD looks like War and Peace compared to Super Mario Galaxy.
Besides, I’d take Uwe Boll’s House of the Dead any day over the terrible Angelina Jolie Tomb Raider movies. Angelina isn’t half as attractive as most of the booth babes have played Lara in the past.
As mentioned, HOTD had a tiny budget, so it’s really unfair to be too harsh on it. I don’t care to see Alone in the Dark and Dungeon Siege however because I didn’t like the female leads.

This was quite possibly the worst movie I have ever seen and it in no way should have any reflection on the video game. From what I have read about this guy, he seems really defensive about his movies and really arrogant, although the general consensus is that his work is poor.
