Rez HD gets alternative trance vibrator support

Apparently there isn’t going to be support for your worn out trance vibrator. Yet, all is not lost, it was announced at CES that the game will use the extra 360 controls connected to the 360 as a trance vibrator. Meaning it will support 3 controllers, acting as trance vibrators, while you shoot your way through this updated cult classic.

Rez HD is set to be release sometime in 2008.

A big “theme” of the game is synesthesia. The crossing of the sense–hearing and feeling visuals… not so much taste and smell but I think we can forgive them for leaving that out.

You know what the Trance Vibrator was?! It was a device that just rumbled alot, everyone made masturbating jokes and it became a well known joke online. Microsoft isn’t going to support this add-on for the REZ - HD version, but the extra controllers plugged into the console will act as ‘vibrators’ …

No use really, just to please the weirdo’s out there and let me post a anime chick with a controller between her legs.

For the record, Mizuguchi said that the Trance Vibrator was never intended for… that. It was simply meant to add to the experience by holding it under your foot or, I don’t know… sitting on it.

Whether or not that’s true is up for debate, but either way, I don’t see what the problem is. Vibration is a big immersive element in many games, and REZ more so than most. If you want to show someone else the game, having them holding a controller that pulses in time with the music is going to help their appreciation of the synergistic nature of the game.

And hey, if it feels better in your lap, more power to you. Is it honestly a valid reason to AVOID doing something that feels good BECAUSE it feels good? Are there really still people out there with that level of guilt issues over sex and masturbation?
