After hearing a few scant details and some images, we now have the first videos of Mizuguchi’s Rez HD in action. Of course, we know the game is headed to the Xbox Live Arcade and will support 5.1 surround sound and HD widescreen output, however we still don’t know the exact date it will be made available or even how much it’ll cost. All Sega’s confirmed is that it should be here in the first quarter of 2008.
See another video after the jump.

Honestly, I’ve never played Rez. The visual style looks cool, the music is nice, but it looks waaaaaaaay too easy, to the point where you’re just…not really playing anything.
Am I missing something? A lot of people seem to like it….

You are missing the music factor, the sounds change when you push the button, you select the target and you release the attack, it’s not necessary for completing the game but that’s the fun of this game

I’m getting an Xbox 360 just for this.
Yes, really. Not a joke.

^I think this will be one of the TOP 5 titles for Xbox Live Arcade,
I hope other Dreamcast hits such as Shenmue, Sonic Adventure and
… come to Xbox Live Arcade too.
REZ still rules! where is my beloved Tetsuya Mizuguchi!
Can Mizuguchi san’s studio still develop REZ 2 and
a new Space Channel 5 for SEGA?

Sorry, Shenmue in its original release was a game spanned across 4 GD-ROMs, one gig for each. The limit for Live Arcade titles is 250MB.
Shenmue isn’t coming to XBLA. Even SA1 would be extremely doubtful.

^Yes, I already know that Shenmue can’t come to current XBLA since this service is offering only small(sized) games so from saying XBLA
(I mean another version of XBLA service…maybe the future XBLA can offer bigger games like Xbox Originals) who knows?
So I wish Microsoft can sign a profitable deal with SEGA for offering
SEGA DC hits via a completely new service…maybe XDC LIVE!.
“SEGA/Dreamcast Hits” are great for Xbox 360’s controller,
because 360’s controller is still the most similar
controller to DC’s controller.

If I recall correctly, exceptions can be made to the 250 MB limit.
P.S. In IE, I see only white squares instead of videos. It works in Firefox.
