See Mario & Sonic DS in action

We’ve seen and played Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games on the Wii, but we really haven’t seen a whole lot of its DS port. However, Sega just released a trailer showcasing the game’s gameplay. The game will be released Jan. 22 and will feature 16 characters, 16 Olympic events (two of which are DS exclusive) and eight Dream Events.

It looks as if the game makes pretty good use of the DS’ touch screen, and isn’t it nice to see Sonic finally beating everyone else in a race?

The “Hit It” sounds just like the one from Sonic CD on Stardust Speedway. That’s cool or something.

I’m almost positive that Hideki Naganuma (JGR, Sonic Rush) made that music.
