Sonic the Hedgehog 2 in HD

“Wow” I hear you say, looks great doesn’t it? Yeah, and I bet you can’t wait to play it right? sucks to be you then because its not real, its fan art done by ‘Billy‘ from Alchemist Defined. The Sonic the Hedgehog 2 piece gives us a good feeling, the feeling of a great Sonic game. Bright, colorful, warm and cheerful with blue skies and bouncy upbeat music, it’s a feeling we haven’t felt in a very long time.
On a interesting side note, this game was third on the front page of digg for the day with over 2,000 diggs. Maybe SEGA should sit down and take note, stop looking at the Sonic brand with dollar signs and remember what it once was, a fun, creative and light hearted video game about speed and a blue hedgehog with attitude!

Wouldn’t releasing a visually upgraded Sonic 2 be seen as “looking at the Sonic brand with dollar signs”?
I’m all for a return to the basics with the series, but the first step HAS to be in a forward direction.
Sonic 4 anyone?

I say this would be sweet for sega to do. Especially bringback this classic and possibly sonic3 and knuckles in HD. I would definitely would like to see a Sonic 4 in HD with Shadow Silver Tails etc. Would be fun to collect the emeralds like the originals again and after beating the game become super again and go throught the stages. Especially the Master emeralds.
