Wii Ghost Squad sounding pretty good

CVG, just posted up a copy, of the import-review, from NGamer, for Ghost Squad, (Got all that? Good).  And from the sounds of it, the game should be pretty darn sweet.

I have been a pretty big fan of the game for a while, playing it many times, in many Arcades.  I was also lucky enough to get my hands on the Wii version at TGS, though what I played was the TGS demo, and not the full game.  But what I experienced was good.

And from the report featured in NGamer, the full version sounds like it’s going to be an arcade treat, in your home.

Of course, nobody does great arcade conversions any more, because nobody makes great arcade games. Or so we thought until we spent some time with Ghost Squad on Wii and discovered just what an insanely addictive, stupidly satisfying game it really is.

The game, however, does sound a tad too easy.  Though, it also sounds like you’ll be wanting to play through it over and over.

The cool thing is that it grows as your ability increases. Each completion adds an experience level to your character, unlocking a new weapon. It also bumps up the difficulty, so if you’re wondering why bad guys take a couple more shots to put down with your new machine gun, it’s because they’ve all bought some body armour since you last played.

Ghost Squad is pure arcade - the kind of thing Sega used to do all the time on Dreamcast. If you’ve ever contemplated dropping a second coin into its big daddy, you shouldn’t hesitate to consider the Wii version.

NGamer, gave the game a score of 8.3 - not too shabby, eh?Â

The game definitely sounds like something from the Sega-of-old, that we all know and love.  A simple, fun, short, arcade title, that will keep you coming back for more.  Personally, I cannot wait to get my hands on the full version.

Woah, in the review for Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, it made it sound out like they liked that game so much more, and gave it a 7.9 and now Ghost Squad gets a 8.3, good show SEGA, good show! Hopefully the House of the Dead port is of the same quality.

Yeah.. i also read that you can calibrate the wii remote so it acts more of a light gun than a pointer–you can play w/o the cursor. I’m mostly excited about that part. oh.. and the 4 players.

btw: i always liked the arcade, but got annoyed cuz the gun was so huge, and to reload you had to point the gun outside the screen. I can use the pistol again!

Sega just found their Wii hit.

Wii gamers can finally sasfisty light gun action on the Wii. I’m glad Sega is putting their classic light gun games on Wii, and with House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return on Wii, Light gun action is back and better than ever.
