And this time it’s not a crappy puzzle game (though they are fun), nor is it yet another scrolling shoot ‘em up, which may also be fun, but having about an endless stream of them released in the last few years, is a tad overkill.

As I say, it is none of these, it is, in fact, a Bomberman clone.  The company behind the game, are famed, (among the Dreamcast community), for developing Alice Dreams, a surprisingly fun 2d puzzle/platform type game.

The new game, Dynamite Dreams, is actually based on a popular mini-game from Alice Dreams, but will be a more complete game, rather than just a mini-game.

The trailer for the game, (shown above), specifies several gameplay modes, including; Assualt, Hide ‘N Seek, Body Guard and a Story mode, plus some others (I believe).  The trailer also specifies the game is for 4-players, plus has some form of VMU connectivity - which I believe offers an overview of the level as you play them.

The developers, The Alice Company, will be showing off the game at the Retro Gaming Connexion 2007, on the 27th/28th October 2007, Congis-sur-Therouanne, France.  Where they intend to allow players to compete in a tournament, with the promise of prizes.

Well all I can say, that I am very excited for this game.  I enjoy a good game of Bomberman, and if Alice Dreams is anything to go by, then the developers know how to make a fun game.

Such a waste of GD-ROMs. If someone wants to play Bomberman, they will. Bomberman Live is already on DC.
