Sega quashes NiGHTS delay rumours

Sega announced on Monday that their anticipated Wii title, NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams, will not be delayed, as some previous reports had rumoured.Representatives have confirmed that the US release date will be December 18th, and while no European date has been confirmed, the official Sega-Europe site still has the game down for “Winter 2007.”
“NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams delivers a reinvented A-life system, online capabilities and a rich storyline, delivering a truly spectacular flight-based action adventure experience,†said Don Mesa, Director of Marketing at SEGA of America.“Appealing to the imagination of gamers of all ages, NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams is on track to become one of the most innovative Wii games on the Wii platform.†He added.
Some of us Sega Nerds will no doubt be very happy at this news, but I can tell others may be dubious and would prefer that Sega wait and work on the game to perfect it, rather than push it out.There is also the problem that Sega sucks at advertising their best products {coughCRUSHcough}, and the storm of big titles at Christmas may wreck sales figures.[Source: GameZone]

True, Nights will not get delayed… but only in the US.

According to the folks of Sega Europe, the game’s only hitting Europe in January 2008.

Hold on, wait.
Journey of Dreams was originally going to be released in October. Then it got delayed for November. Now it’s December. There has been a delay, but only by a month. Two months if you count the original release date.

Delay is good. As much as NiGHTS is a sorta xmasy fitting title, I’d rather see it next year rather than see it rushed for now.
Though Sega has been working on it as long as SSBB if not longer.
Though then again, maybe they can fix any bugs in the next two months. They know more than anybody about how important this title is for them.
One gripe though, fix that dolphin tail! horizontal not vertical, it’s a mammel not a fish!

Yeah, there has been numerous delays already, which is a good thing by all standards.
The 2008 release was confirmed to our reporter by the Europe Sega office but didn’t say it was only for the Europe release which is probably why things got a little twisted. So, hey, sorry for all that. Information gets misunderstood sometimes.
Bah! Yet again, the UK and Europe have to wait around like idiots while the rest of the planet will have been playing it for over a month.

Yay! Take that European gamers, although Japan will probably get it first!
This is probably one of my most anicapted games of 2007, with a classic Sega revival, 2-Player co-op and classic-styled NiGHTS gameplay. Go Sega Dreamcast revivals on Wii!
