Sega Bass Fishing headed to the Wii

by Chris on October 5th, 2007

We’ve seen the imposters, but now the real Sega Bass Fishing is finally coming back, and this time on the Nintendo Wii.

There isn’t a lot of information about Sega’s fishing title, but it will apparently be released next spring, have about 15 landscapes with changing weather, will turn from day to night and have some sort of exclusive game content.

We can only imagine some of the possibilities that Sega will put to use with the Wiimote.

9 opinions for Sega Bass Fishing headed to the Wii

Look, I understand Ghost Squad….but is this just a port of the Dreamcast game or something?

Come on Sega, Alien Syndrome aside, you’ve been doing the Wii good so far. Don’t start screwing around.

As far as game play goes, their bass fishing series has just dying to come to the Wii. This would be great with a fishing rod controller shell, I imagine.

Hopefully, the graphics will see a major overhaul between now and the 2008 release. Lots of Wii games seem to be getting major improvements in graphics and controls a few months before they come out, so hopefully this game will see a similar transformation nect year, as this is the fishing game I think the Wii really needs.

Sega probably should have waited a few more months to give us screens, as these are embarrassing…..

Question is: Will it be like the original or more of a realistic Sega Bass Fishing 2? I’m hoping for an another arcade title… :/

Obvoiusly its gonna be a new game, these are just screens of the dreamcast version for memories sake.
“There isn’t a lot of information about Sega’s fishing title,”

Plus the dreamcast version only had like three or four enviroments… or was it five? Its been a long time.
    Definitly not 15 though.

Ive actually been waiting for SEGA to decide to remake this game as it was just plain fun and my whole family really enjoyed the full on arcade action fishing feel.
Watching a fish brainlessly try to sneek up and catch your lure so you could pull its sorry arse up and um… weigh it… was down right fun.
A lack of a fishing controller didnt help though, but its one of the Dreamcast’s more memerable titles.

I still remember trying to catch turtles attempting to get to a hidden stage with mermaids… to catch… Wich I dont think actually existed.
I did get the sonic lure :3

Looking forward to more on this game, SEGA seems to be getting better bit.

Now if I could just fit my Wii into a Dreamcast case…. hmm….

Haha, I bet you could fit your Wii into a Dreamcast case. The Wii’s innards are rather small.

Frankly, I’m tempted myself. Wii is getting all the right Sega games…..now gimme Rez. Theres no way they could screw up the graphics in that game, even in early screens.

Are these screens DC? They look a lot worse than I remember….

I’ll happily play a new Bass game. The original was top on the DC, hours of fun on that.

This isn’t SEGA BASS at all its Bass Fishing Wii from ArcSystems and Sims and its about to come out in Japan. It may be close to it since SIMS participated in the original games but as far as Sega participation goes this ain’t it. Unless sega confirms they’re localising this title then that’s one thing but this still won’t be SEGA BASS in my eyes.

NiGHTS, Samba de Amigo and now SEGA BASS FISHING! all for Wii!
(Let’s consider GHOST SQUAD, Sonic Wild Fire and … too)

Is Wii going to become another SEGA-Platform but under Nintendo’s roof?
Well, if they finally announce Shenmue Wii-Edition for Wii we might be able
to call Wii our second Dreamcast!

They can even make a special DC-like controller just for Shenmue.

Jet Set Radio, Panzer Dragoon are defiantly other SEGA-titles
which can start to use from Wii’s controller.

It seems that Mario(Nintendo) & Sonic(SEGA) are finally going
to become good friends at least until Nintendo’s next next gen console,
    is this just the beginning?

    Regards-Alimn
