We have some big news guys, Yakuza 2 will see a Western release after all!  Yes, apparently it’s true, as I’ve heard some rumours, and speculation, flying around a lot recently, but if IGN is to be believed, it’s now 100-percent official.

In my opinion, this is a very good move by Sega.  I know a lot of gamers have been moaning about how they are not getting Yakuza 3 until they can play Yakuza 2, so this should please some of you.

For anyone who doesn’t know, Yakuza 2 takes place directly after the events in the first game.  It’s on the PlayStation 2, and it’s much bigger and better than the original, with improvements in almost every area, including a much-improved battle system.

Yakuza 2 is planned for a 2008 release in North America and no doubt the same for Europe, and the uncivilized savage countries.

2008 is late!,
I rather to play it before Kenzan’s release(Spring 2008)
because since PS3 is free region, I might be able to play
Yakuza:Kenzan as soon as it comes! however I don’t have a PS3 yet.

First we’re complaining where not getting the game and now we’re complaining its too late? XD

Anyway, this is excellent news, time to kick arse with Kazuma once again.

Yeah I’m pretty excited. The first game was a really good time.

And who says SEGA’s only in it for the money. I mean, they know this game’ll flop. But they still make it. Thats why I love SEGA.

Oh, you should be excited James, Famitsu gave it a 38/40.

I think one thing is that a lot of folks who started to love Yakuza found out AFTER the game was released, if SEGA can try a decent marketing campaign (READ: not SEGA Rally, that one was bad…) SEGA could make a nice buck of this game. Not a lot, but a bit, and every little helps!
