According to the admin from NightsIntoDreams.com and his source from Leipzig, NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams will be delayed until Q1 2008. This is a blessing in disguise; now it won’t have to go up against four heavy hitters this holiday season. That, and Sonic Team said the game was about 55% complete. This isn’t good. The last thing we want them to do is rush this.

Here is the direct message from Niraven:

As for our source of the delay, it’s as high up as it gets. You see, the German magazines said Christmas 2007 was the release date as did Daniel our demo-guy. When we got Nintendo’s publishing dates, it was listed as November. We contacted SEGA this morning and spoke with SEGA’s Product and PR Manager and he told us that it’s been officially pushed to Q1 2008. That’s literally “this morning’s news”, and it’s coming from the most credible source it can come from.

Now for the videos, these new videos shows off the Alps level (Alps level is the equivalent of Spring Valley from NiGHTS into Dreams) . After watching this, I hope that Sonic Team fixes the Wii remote sensitivity. But regardless, you can set it to use the analog stick on the nunchuck.

VIDEO 1 and VIDEO 2 (I suggest you right click and save as, if on Firefox)

Honestly, I’m happy to see that Sega is once again pushing games back for quality reasons. Sega used to always do that, and its games were always very polished. Maybe this is a good sign.

Yeah. It seems they want this Nights game to be as well done as the last. Not to mention release it when there’s barely any games out.

The videos aren’t working for me at all.

Don’t worry Radrappy - the videos are like 15 seconds long each, really low quality and you don’t really see much at all. Plus on the first clip - the guy has his thumb over the lens for about 5 seconds (thats quite a big deal when its only 15secs long!)

But from those very short clips - the game does look very good. The art looks just like the original, imo, and the game looked smooth - But the guys said the controls were really loose….

-But again, the clips are short and not very good - so it was hard to tell exactly what the game will be like.

Oh yeah - forgot to add- I am also bloody happy they are holding off. It was just the other day I commented that it would be best to hold off and make the game good.
I can wait another year if need be - if the game is quality… but I hope it’s not that long.

Good news at last, but they provably are pushing it back because it is still far of being completed, not because they want to polish it…

I will definetly be missing Nights this Winter but I guess it will not be my next Wii game. I suppose that will be Super Mario Galaxy or Metroid 3.

But you guys are right that with more time it will make for a game that migth even top the classic. Also it will not be pushed aside by the more conventional games out that everyone will know better like Halo and all those Mario games.
