The Unforgettable movie gets a director

The Unforgettable is a movie based on SEGA’s horror game Condemned Criminal Origins. We wrote to the script writer and he did say that a director will be announced very soon.
Well, it was pretty damn soon. The Director for the film will be Tarsem Singh. He directed The Cell (the movie with Jennifer Lopez).
I admit I never saw The Cell, but always heard positive things.
Though lets hope this doesn’t turn into another House of the Dead incident. Tarsem Singh is no Uwe Boll (thats a good thing). Tarsem Singh has won a award for directing, Commercials actually. But it still counts, sorta.
Whats up with Sega of America wanting to promote a movie with a game or game with a movie? Is this even considered advertising?

An embarrassment is the best we can look for in this situation. I think it’s best any fans of the games just stick to the games.

The Cell? That was a pretty shitty movie in my opinion. Basically a rip off of Silence of the Lambs - but using computer technology to get ‘inside’ (literally) the psycho’s mind - rather than using another psycho (that would be Mr. Hannibal) to help. But the movie played out in a similar fashion to Silence of the Lambs… just very crap.
However- I don’t think that had much to do with the director - more to do with the fact that Jennife Lopez is a waste of… no just waste (i.e - Utter Shite) And the script and story was very forgettable.
Anyway. Let’s hope Mr Singh plays video games on a daily basis and won’t funk this movie up.

Yes, Tarsem Singh is not Uwe Boll - he’s much worse. AICN’s Moriarty refers to him affectionately as “near mongoloid” - and that’s a reserved name for Singh. “The Cell” is a good candidate for the most imbecilic movie of the last decade.
