Ghost Squad will have a Wii Zapper combo

Who didn’t see this one happening? Sega has announced the release date for its Arcade light gun shooter Ghost Squad in Japan, October 25th. Japan seems to be getting the game earlier than Europe and America.
In another note, they said there will be two versions of the game. One is just the game by itself and the other is a combo that comes with the Wii Zapper. I don’t know how much each will retail for or if the Wii Zapper combo will be introduced in the west.
For your common knowledge, the Wii Zapper is a piece of plastic. That’s it. It is supposed to release for $19.99 USD, making it possibly the most overpriced piece of plastic ever. Trust me I know my plastic, I worked in the plastic industry for 2 years.

They mentioned this at E3, though they didn’t say anything about it costing more than a regular retail game. Though that might have only meant for first-party Nintendo titles like Mario Kart Wii.

The piece of plastic comes with a game for $19.99, fyi ;). Kind of helps when journalists know this stuff.
In any case, I’ll be buying the version with the Zapper packed in. One of my big worries about this game, was using the little Wiimote in a game built for using machine guns. The zapper eliminates this problem by turning your Wiimote/nunchuck into a machine gun.
Finally, a proper SEGA light gun game comes home…been waiting for this since HOTD3.

Well, the important thing is, we’re getting it. We always miss out on Sega’s better Japanese games these days.
Light gun games are so rare these days (good ones anyway. Screw RE:UC) Ghost Squad is very refreshing.

“We always miss out on Sega’s better Japanese games these days”
Its because we never buy their stuff! (cries at the idea Yakuza 2 will never be released here thanks to its poor sales in America ;__;)
But yay! finally a Wii game I can get my teeth into, now I only hope it does well in America and we gets more of SEGAs light gun games!

Hey, I do ;). I’m sure you do to. Not the SEGA fan’s fault, blame the average consumer.
But to be fair. Yakuza 1 was kind of lame…all style and no substances. I still want Y2 though, cause it supposedly fixed many of the original’s problems.

I have to agree with Ryan. Yakuza was a can of pure awsome, I didn’t even notice any problems with the game.

Oh yes, I meant the general consumer, as in all us Westerns…or most us Westerns! (as far as I know, Yakuza did much much better in Europe)
And hey, Yakuza was my second favourite game of the year! I loved cracking open everyones skulls with almost everything around me, and the fighting was also quite fun. The only probably was there wasn’t ernough battle stages and too many random battles.
