Mario & Sonic trailer

Finally, we can all watch the full trailer for the gaming event of 2007. Nay, the gaming event of the millennium: Mario & Sonic go to Communist China!
Prepare to be blown away by–
I can’t do this anymore. This trailer is laughably stupid and the game looks equally terrible. Watch at your own risk.

I’m not impressed at all. It certainly does look cheesy.

Hey now! It doesn’t look that bad! Although yes, it does look cheesy. But then, so has everything that has come out of Sonic Team since Sonic Adventure!
However, they better come up with a good reason for Mario running as fast as Sonic.
BECAUSE IT SHOULDN’T BE HAPPENING.

I’m really hoping this isn’t just your standard olympic game with Sonic/Mario models instead of people, which it looks like currently.

I Gamespot said that each character has there own good points and bad points, like Mario is a all-rounded, but Sonic is the fastest character in the game.

Has Nathan ever said something positive or optimistic about anything?

l read on AMN that although the default modes stay true to the actual sports, there’s going to be unlockable modes based on the Sonic and Mario worlds, with wacky items and the like.
Also, they’re aiming to have about 20 characters.
Hurrah!

Ya know, I’ll buy this no matter what, since Sonic and Mario having a game together IS a huge deal. But…… why did it have to be an olympic game? Oh well, hope it turns out alright.

He’d probably say something positive about it if he saw something, well, good.

I agree RHL, I think Sega and Nintendo could have been more creative and done something much more interesting.
How about creating a game that combines both Mario and Sonic’s worlds together.
Who knows, the storyline could have been that Koopa and Robotnik combined forces to destroy Videogame Land. They could have made it where each level combines several classic Sega and Nintendo games and you have to use Mario and Sonic along the way.
There would be so many possibilities with a title like this, and would definitely be a much more sought after game. Just my two cents, though.

I think this is the perfect idea, SEGA kills many birds with 1 stone..
SEGA have the Olympic games game under their blet but they would have to have a crappy looking version of it for the Wii.
Sonic fanboys, Nintendo fanboys and gamers will lap this up
This game will appeal to kids where the normal game may not
With the 2 mascots this is going to be a multi million seller even if it’s crap

Based on this trailer alone, this game should be pretty promising. It’s exactly how I imagined the game to be.
As for the whole “Sonic should be faster!” stuff, this is suppose to show the characters in an equal light, it’s not supposed to be accurate: it’s supposed to make it exciting. Notice how all the characters run out in exact symmetry from each other?

Sonic will be disqualified for trying to steal the olympic rings. He’ll trip up somewhere and they will fly out of him.
Mario will be disqualified for performance enhancing mushrooms.

I loved the trailer, especially the movie voiceover dude. I suppose he had a hard time trying to keep a straight face while doing a voiceover for a video game.
Can’t wait for this game.
