Despite some pretty weighty competition, from some new games, such as; Harry Potter, Shrek the 3rd, The Darkness, Resident Evil 4, OverLord and Tomb Raider, Sega have still managed to obtain two top 20 ranks in the latest UK sales chart.
Newcomer, Football Manager 2007, steps in at the 20th position. Look on the bright side, though, the only way is up, eh?.Â
But most surprisingly, Virtua Tennis 3, is still clinging onto a top 10 position. Why is this surprising? Well a fair few of the games on the list have only been released in the last couple of weeks, meaning they should still have a fair amount of buss surrounding them. Not only are they new(ish) but many of them are games for big movie franchises, which always sell pretty darn well.
Virtua Tennis 3, may not be right up at the top, it’s these movie tie-in games that are mainly beating it, plus some pretty popular franchises, such as Forza, Resident Evil and Rainbow Six. But take a look at the games it is beating, such as; Tomb Raider, Colin McRae, Tiger Woods, Ninja Gaiden, Super Mario and Zelda.
It goes to show that Sega can still make some popular games, Virtua Tennis 3 has been either in the top 20, or hanging very closely since it was launched, while many other games have come in for a brief stint and vanished. Good show, Sega.

I have to apologise on behalf of the UK for having so many movie tie-ins in the chart.
It is a DISGRACE and will be tolerated NO LONGER.

In what way is Football Manager 2007 a newcomer?. Maybe I dont know something, but I believe it wasnt even launched in 2007 but last year!. Dont know Handheld version, but PC that is the most sold, almost sure.

Saphion I have to apologise… I bought Spider-Man 3 and Harry Potter for my Wii….
Soreda- I was thinking the same too, when I was typing it up…. But as it has no chart entry ranked for last week (hence the ” - ” ) I just assumed it was a new entry….
