Sega joins the DS million sellers list

Great news for Sega, as Love and Berry Collection for the Nintendo DS broke the 1 million sales mark in Japan. Sega joins the list of top-selling games at number 18. While this is great news, Sega still has a long way to go before they can break into the top 5, and an even longer way before they reach the success of Pokemon.
Naturally, most of the games are from Nintendo….
1 Pokemon Diamond/Pearl Nintendo 5,284,086 (Pokemon Diamond/Pearl counted as a single game)
2 New Super Mario Bros Nintendo 4,748,249
3 More Brain Training Nintendo 4,573,759
4 Crossing Animal: Wild World Nintendo 4,358,251
5 Brain Training Nintendo 3,570,947
6 Mario Kart DS Nintendo 2,431,007
7 English Training for Adults Nintendo 2,020,381
8 Nintendogs Nintendo 1,629,884
9 Big Brain Academy Nintendo 1,519,216
10 Judicious Common Training Nintendo 1,490,919
11 Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker Enix 1,450,827
12 Tetris DS Nintendo 1,189,640
13 Wario Ware: Touched Nintendo 1,150,666
14 Tamagotchi Connection: Shop corner! Bandai 1,124,753
15 Final Fantasy III DS Square 1,055,443
16 Super Mario 64 DS Nintendo 1,053,994
17 Kirby Squeak Squad Nintendo 1,003,255
18 Love and Berry DS Collection Sega 1,001,045
Well there it is, sitting pretty in the top 20. Let’s hope more Sega games can join this list; fingers crossed for Mario and Sonic Olympics.

Wouldn’t Sonic & Mario be considered a Nintendo game by these chart records? considering Nintendo is publishing it in Japan.
