Sega to celebrate Sonic’s birthday in PSU

Wow, our little blue hedgehog is about to be old enough to drive! On June 23, Sega will celebrate Sonic’s 16th birthday by decorating the halls of Phantasy Star Universe with Sonic, Knuckles and Tails statues.
Players who log in and play on June 23 will also receive a free Sonic statue created by Sonic Team to decorate your PSU room.
I’m not totally sure what PSU’s player numbers are since Sega hasn’t released them, but I have a feeling Sonic may experience what I did on 11th birthday, when I only had one friend show up. :(

On the server select display, each full star next to a universe represents 200 players. (An unfilled star could mean anywhere from 1 to 100 or so) Going by this:
At peak hours, the PC/PS2 US servers see about 600-800 active users, perhaps 1000 at the most, while Xbox 360 version has roughly around 3000-3500. The Japanese PC/PS2 servers are the most populous with at least 12,000 at their peak hours (split between two server clusters or “worlds” originally made to handle the load).
This will be the first time US and EU PC/PS2 players will be able to receive the Sonic decoration. Xbox 360 users had an opportunity earlier during a demo event, while Japanese players received theirs for participating in the original trial beta.
