Isn’t Sega ‘Marvel’-lous?

Sega has now officially expanded their relationship with Marvel Entertainment, adding comic superheroes; Captain America, the Incredible Hulk and Thor to their exclusive multiyear deals, state news site Reuters.com
Sega already announced a deal with Marvel last year, working on the Iron Man game, due for release May 2008, to coincide with the movie release.
Sega say they already have a developer at work on the new ‘Hulk’ title, which is also due in 2008 (June) and should also release along side the upcoming Universal Pictures film starring Edward Norton as David Banner.
Simon Jeffery, president and COO of Sega of America, said all four games will be developed in North America. The “Iron Man” game, which is being developed internally at Sega, is using next-generation technology.
“It’s a collaborative process,” he said. “We work closely with Marvel Studios, with (’Iron Man’ director) Jon Favreau and with the design and FX teams. It is vital that the game feels like the movie; it is being designed primarily on the next-gen gaming systems.”
Marvel worked with Activision on getting the film actors to also supply the voice acting for the Spiderman and X-Men games on the last generation platforms. I think we should also expect Marvel to do the same with the upcoming Sega titles, to help strengthen the bond between the films and games.
In case you didn’t know, Sega also struck deals with other movie companies and are developing/producing titles for the upcoming Golden Compass game, due out this November along with the New Line Cinema movie. Sega also have two titles based on the Alien movie franchise under development. One we know is an FPS and the other is still a bit ‘hush-hush’ right now. Still not done, Sega had the rights to make the offical games for the ‘Charlottes Web’ movie (released last year), which was based on a popular childrens book.

I like the choices of heroes.
Its a shame that Silver Surfer was already taken by Activision.

The story in three words: More licensed bullshit.
Here’s hoping Sega doesn’t screw up this opportunity to make some badass games.

WOAH, WOAH, WOAH!
David Banner?
It’s Bruce Banner. David Banner is the 70’s TV show name that was changed because the name Bruce was “too homosexual” of a name.
Unless you mean the rapper David Banner, then I’d pay money to see that.

Thank you Warren I’m glad someone else pointed that out!
All the information in the post is from Reuters (which I linked to) - the bulk of it I had to edit down. But they are the ones that put down ‘David Banner’!
….I know it was Bruce in the cartoons and film…. but I thought maybe for the new film they might be using another member of the Banner family or something. Which is why I left it as David.
So it wasn’t me being totally inaccurate… if anything I was too accurate at replicating the original Reuters article.

The Aliens game looks like a good game.
Why can’t Sega make a Nicktoons game?
