Sega: Gaming giants and …fashion gurus?

Gaming site Kotaku, have revealed some rather decent looking t-shirts. What’s special about these t-shirts?  They are by Sega. Well at least, the brand name belongs to Sega, not sure if the gaming company actually manufactured them.
The t-shirts are based on Segas hit arcade and DS game, Love and Berry. The game is designed for young children, mainly young girls. So with this in mind, you can clearly see that the t-shirts are also aimed at young females, or teenage girls trying to squeeze into clothes for people 10 years younger than they are.
The game has received huge success in Japan, so it’s not suprising that Sega would want to try and milk the franchise for all it’s worth. (Hey, if Nintendo can do it with Pokemon….).ÂÂ
On a personal note, I think if they were to try and do anything with the franchise, this was a pretty good idea. I’d say the t-shirts do look very respectable. By that I mean, I’m glad they aren’t plastered with big cartoony images, which will interest only keen fans of the games. These t-shirts have gone for a more subtle style, as you can see. And as a result, I think they will attract and be worn by non-gamers too. Which is a very good thing.
I’m just waiting for them to release a Rub Rabbits line of clothing, that game has some very unique art styles that I think will translate well to clothes designs.
