PSU: Ambition of Illuminus Japanese beta begins
Posted by Chris. Filed under Chris. Tagged with Phantasy Star Universe.

You may remember back in early March when we revealed the first details of Phantasy Star Universe’s expansion - Ambition of Illuminus. Well, it’s all moving pretty quickly as the Japanese beta test began April 5 and will continue until April 26.
According to PSO-World, to be able to participate in the beta, you have to have a valid Japanese online account with the new ISAO account system and a Japanese game key. The download weighs in at around 825MB, and you can find the download here.
In other PSU news, the Xbox Live Marketplace has three new PSU themes and picture packs available for download. Here’s a preview of the three PSU themes - first, second and third. The picture packs feature Ethan and Hyuga; Lou, Maya and Mirei; and Renvolt, Leo and Tonnio.

So far the expansion does look pretty promising.
But whats with the themes? And really I mean ALL themes. Why do we have to pay 150 -300 points for a crappy picture?
I just get images from my PC and use them for my background. Its free and the web has an unlimited free supply of them. Yet they expect us to pay for it on Xbox?
-Sorry just had to moan there.
Anyway- I hope this extension is good and reasonably priced. Any word if it will include a single player extension?

It looks good, but I know I’ll get disappointed with it. It still has no red boxes and it still has those daft item synthesis/grinding issues.
SAD SMILEY FACE =(

For the record that’s grinding as in ‘grinding for mission points and meseta’ instead of ‘grinding items’.
I think I’m living in denial.
