Sega - From console kings to beauty queens.

Sega recently announced they are to cease repairs for the Dreamcast and Saturn, but that doesn’t mean that they are completely out of the hardware business.
No sir. Gaming site, Kotaku.com, have reported on one of Segas latest gadgets that is sure to set the gaming world on fire! …or maybe not.
Now introducing the ‘Camera de Kirarin Magical Beauty’.  Honestly this isn’t going to drive any hardcore gamers into a frenzy, but it will draw the attention of those who play games like Love and Berry (that’s me included then). Mainly aimed at young girls and possibly homosexuals (I’m sure Sega don’t descriminate), this new device helps the user see what they might look like with various hairstyles and makeup arrangements- without the need for hours of sitting in front of a mirror applying and undoing the beauty products.
How does it work? Well the user looks at the device and presses a button. The built in camera takes a picture of what the user looks like- with no make up on. And then, using some questionable images of hairstyles and make up designs, one can try and determine what they look like with a new appearance- by mapping the images over the photograph.
This could be a great idea for any young lady, who can’t quite afford all the makeup she wants with her pocket money. But is it really necessary? My mobile phone can take pictures of me, and also has similar images to make said pictures look ‘goofy’.
Still it is nice to see Sega looking out for the young, gadget-oriented females/males with an ‘alternate sexual preference’. But I think Kotaku put it perfectly - “*Sigh* You know, right now Sega could be making Dreamcasts”.

This is the most terrifying thing I’ve ever seen.

No. no. no. It’s not meant to be terrifying….it’s pretty… ;)
-Well yeah it is kind of weird. I just can’t believe a company with decades of gaming and graphical prowess under their belt can’t come up with some half decent looking images to be used on this thing.
At least have realistic looking haircuts on there!
