NiGHTS online details, more flies our way

Isn’t this exciting? A little bit more info on NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams was released today on Sega of Europe’s website, It wasn’t a lot, but it’s very interesting all the same.
Here’s the new information:
- Three sets of Persona masks give the player new shape-shifting abilities and more ways to explore the world.
- Dragon mask: Transforms NiGHTS into a huge dragon and makes him resistant to wind effects.
- Dolphin mask: NiGHTS can change into a dolphin and explore under water.
- Rocket mask: NiGHTS takes the shape of a rocket and travels at supersonic speeds.
- There are seven fantastical dream worlds to explore and the unique environments of Nightopia introduce an extraordinary, magical world unlike any other.
- Wii connect 24: Exchange items with friends via the network and change the scenery according to real-world seasons using the Forecast Channel.
Cool, huh? The inclusion of Forecast Channel into actual gameplay really intrigues me. I wonder if real-world changes in seasons will also make changes to the in-game weather. Could it be possible that during spring or fall, there would be rain and leaves falling everywhere?
Gosh, just thinking about the possibilities makes my little Sega Nerds toes tickle with glee!

Wow, this is some pretty big news. Definitely looks to be really interesting.
Finally the Forecast Channel has a purpose.

Well they have gone and done it. Now I can see that Sega have potentially ruined one of the greatest franchises ever!
-I don’t want freaking masks Sega! That is one of the gayest ideas since they gave Shadow guns.
I don’t like the idea of NiGHTS needing these special items to do stuff. How come he could swim underwater in the original- and now he needs to turn into a dolphin? Sounds lame to me.
-It worked in Zelda (Majoras Mask) But taht entire game was based around the masks abilities and you had a huge world to explore. I can see this becoming an annoying gimmick that the game has.
I like the idea of the Forecast channel being used to manipulate the in game weather. If that works, it can be sweet.
But Sega had better of planned the whole Masks thing out!

Nights used to morph in the first game like he would turn into a bob sledge to go down that ice mountain..
I asume there will just be patches in the game where you use these morphing abilitys for a short period of time. Instead of it doing it automatically you’ll have to pick up the ablity like an item.

But that’s what I loved about the original and Xmas edition. NiGHTS could morph when he needed to, without breaking up play. It was great - He was great.
But now he will have to rely on some dumb head gear? It sounds too tacked on for my liking.
I know its early days yet. But I just don’t like the sound of it at all. All I wanted for this sequel was exactly the same gameplay. Just some updated graphics and maybe some new locals.

If NiGHTS is supposed to be multigendered, then I don’t think she/he has a problem with gay masks:)
I’ve been playing NiGHTS since hearing about the sequel. It remains a masterpiece.

I almost feel bad because Graham probably has no idea we’re talking about him and his gayness.

No darling, I encourage it.
Purple scarfs for everybody!
The only thing I’m anti are certain religions (two in particular- which I won’t mention) and NiGHTS being forced to wear masks, gay or no!
