Officially official, NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams

That’s right, according to Famitsu the long awaited sequel to the legendary Saturn title will be known as NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams.

You will return, once again, to play as NiGHTS, entering the dreams of people, in a bid to stop them becoming nightmares. You are the key in the fight for Nightopia’s (the dream world) sanity.

So far, only confirm for the Nintendo Wii, Journey of Dreams will allow players to fly, glide, loop de loop and do all sorts of aerobatic trickery without even thinking, as you wield the Wiimote for control.

Not much else has been confirmed, apart from that you shall return as Nights (thats the purple-clad matador type guy you keep seeing) and that the game will feature new levels and possibly some old favourites. Plus some very lovely new screens have emerged.

Takashi Izukare, Sonic Team USA, had this to say;

“In 1996, we created the NiGHTS character to achieve a concept of ‘being refreshed from being able to fly in the sky’. 11 years later, at last, we have broken our silence. NiGHTS will now fly in a new dream world: new stages, new story, and on the new Wii platform. Please look forward to NiGHTS and friends exploring this brand new adventure.”

For all the ‘nay’ sayers out there, (yes there are still people not believing) things are certainly starting to look official aren’t they?
