Swedish mag confirms NiGHTS

It looks like all the wait and anticipation is finally over, folks. Gamereactor, a Swedish video game magazine, has put a preview of their April issue on their site and guess what made the cover - yep, it’s NiGHTS.
I guess everyone was really telling the truth all along: Official Nintendo Magazine, Spong and the NiGHTSintoDreams.com.
However, it appears by the cover that NiGHTS (the character) will reprise his role as the star of the game … only this time as a Spanish bullfighter.

Not many games have really appealed to me in comparison to the unique brilliance and originality seen in the likes of the Sega Saturn cult hit, NiGHTs into Dreams.
This is a game that can be justified to-the-tee in terms of sharing the superb quality to a much broader audience, and for the participants who missed out on one of the most cherishing moments in Sega’s (if not gaming) history.
I am truly excited about NiGHTs 2. It will most certainly bring back good childhood memories. Sonic Team needs a much needed break from Sonic. This will be a refreshing new start for Sonic Team and a refreshment for sega fans alike. Lets hope they take their time with this one.

That’s a very insightful post, amitabha. It’s good to read thoughts from a reasonable gamer who believes Sonic Team, and Sega as a whole, still has the ability to make beautiful games.
It really gets tiresome reading forums around the internet where people say they’d rather Sega stop making sequels to their classic games for fear of them ruining their childhood memories.
Maybe Sonic Team needs a break, like you say. I, for one, am really excited for a NiGHTS 2 and think it will be a breath of fresh air in today’s gaming market.

there’s some scans of the game on gonintendo.com. i dunno if i like the make over that nights has, but maybe it’ll grow on me.
