Sega’s the pick of the European PS3 bunch

For all the Europeans out there, this one is for you! As you should all well know the Sony Playstation 3 is due to (finally!) be released tomorrow (Friday 23rd March).
And Sega have confirmed their launch titles for the new Sony system, and they are all pretty darn good!
The least exciting would be World Snooker Championship 2007 - although it does not contain as much guns or car-jacking as many gamers would like - the game has been critically acclaimed as being one of the best snooker/pool games around- and is also available for the Xbox 360 and PC.
Next ‘worst’ would be Sonic The Hedgehog - although highly disappointing to many gamers and critics, the game has sold quite well on the 360 (worldwide) and also on the PS3 so far (US and Japan) and there is a little niche out there who do think the game is great fun- just ask our resident Sonic nut Warren.
Next to the stand is Full Auto 2: Battlelines. While the original was greeted with mixed opinions on the Xbox 360, the PS3 game has been greeted….with much the same really. Getting the ‘not amazing, but not bad’ shrug of the shoulders by many critics. Maybe not everyones cup of tea, but the franchise is a lot of fun and under rated.
Now while we (Europeans) had to wait so long for the PS3, it turns out we don’t have to wait any longer for two of Sega’s biggest titles of the year, so far. Both Virtua Fighter 5 and Virtua Tennis 3 will be available in stores along with your brand-spanking new PS3. No doubt these two games will be on many peoples lists, as they have both recieved high praise from the gaming world in the last few weeks and, not to mention, both series are among Sega’s- (if not, all gaming companies)- top franchises.
On a personal note, I am not getting a PS3 at launch (indeed, not for a while I would say) But if I were to be picking one up very soon, I would personally choose Full Auto 2, Virtua Fighter 3 and Virtua Tennis to go with my new PS3. That’s not just out of this list of Sega launch titles. But, indeed, all the PS3 launch titles.
See, I would argue that Sega have got the best games of the bunch out there for launch.
