The February NPD sales numbers are in for North America, and while Sega’s two big sellers for the month didn’t crack the top 10, they did have pretty solid rookie outings.

Sonic and the Secret Rings sold 63,000 copies, while Virtua Fighter 5 sold 53,000. Although it may not look very impressive at first glance, you should remember both games were released Feb. 20, which means they were only available for eight days for this month’s sales numbers.

If the games can keep their momentum, there may be a decent chance we’ll see them break the top 10 next month.

Finally some good sales news, which is great because these two games are awesome.
I don’t care what anyone says about Sonic, that game is at least an 8!

I agree. Like I said in the forums, I think Nathan and Graham were a bit too harsh in their reviews. It’s okay, though, Grahams never pleased with anything.

What? Grrr. Damnez-vous Chris. Damnez-vous.

-If anything I think I could have been a lot harsher on the game. It’s riddled with issues and the annoying thing is that they aren’t things that the developers or testers have missed, like bugs. But they are things the developers must have wanted to be in the game, that make no sense and do nothing but ruin the gameplay.

The game is saved by an fairly interesting story, some amazing level designs- my jaw was open on occasions- and that when Sonic is powerful and fast, he is easier to control.
-Now I could have possibly ignored every little issue with this game, if it wasn’t for the Backstep. Which ever monkey (read: Retard) thought that up deserves instant dismissal. All they neeed is a 180 degree spin. Simple, painless. The game would be 1000 times easier to control, shoudl you miss something, or when you HAD to do it (yes sometime syou are forced to backstep, to hit a jump pad you just revealed or whatever) important and would make it look cooler and feel more open and as though you were in control.

If you’re playing a level correctly and are going for a gold medal you shouldn’t have to backstep. It’s like reverse in racing games.
