-Well I didn't know any of that- but it doiesn't suprise me. But how can EA claim that the DC had no userbase- when they were one of the only developers supporting the GameCube in the last year or two. I love my GameCube, but bugger all games came out for it. EA was the only one intent on giving it the PS2 and Xbox games...problem was most (if not all) were crap.
I think Ubisoft was one of the other few companies, who supported with good games- with SplinterCell and RainbowSix - but always released months after the Xbox and PS2 versions.

I think EA could be one of the worst things to happen to the gaming world- except their PC division. For some reason I think they make some damn good PC titles.

EA said intially that the reason why they wouldn't support DC was that there wasn't enough of a userbase to warrant them making games for it. ut the DC surpassed ther numbers they hinted at that they would need to start making software for it since the DC had a very large userbase in the States around 2000. hen they just came up with the excuse of Sega Sports 2k series since people were starting to praise that series.

Submit an article you say?

We could possibly swing to allow that. If you like, PM me in the forums about it. I think it would be good to get some views of our readers out.

-Also I have to ask. What do you mean when you say EA said the 'numbers on the DC made no sense'. What numbers?

Well that's even debatable. I think it was the fact that they needed eachother in a mutal allance on what the games industry was like at the time, the megadrive era. EA for example were forced by Sega to get a license when EA were actually making illegal games for the system.

But the whole hate thing stems from what happened to the saturn and EA and sega fell out over it. it came to a head during the DC era when EA refused to support it because they said the numbers on DC don't make sense. When the DC passed the numbers to warrant EA suport they came up with that excuse.

BTW when sega went third party a website(Segaweb i think) asked other developers about what they thought about sega going TP. Capcom said they were sad about the situation because they had a new competitor but wished them luck. EA on the other hand said they were desperate and made fun of them. EA has been asking for a kicking from sega for a while now.But if you allow me to submit an article to this site i'll go into more detail...

Yeah it's quite a petty fued.

They used to be pretty good 'mates' back in the Saturn and Megadrive days. I remember EA was one of the few companies that stuck it out with the Saturn throughout its life- realising some pretty fun racing and sports titles....
Still I'm glad that Sega didn't cave about the sports things- I'd rather still be playing Extreme Sports on the Dreamcast than another Madden title, or playing Virtua Striker 2 over any FIFA game.

Why do EA hate SEGA so much in the first just because of the sports thing? That's really stupid if that is...

Lol- I actually just clicked on her link again to check something- At the risk of catching a virus or haviong the Feds bust down my door (that's what I'm willing to risk for this site though ;) )
-The article is actually on her frontpage! You have to scroll down (past the unsightly pictures) and there it is.
I wonder if she is trying to boost the hits by masquerading as a gaming site?
Or maybe she just really likes Seganerds? (that sounds more likely) :)
